LateToCult 42,099
This thread is for anyone interested in the demographics of the US. Here are the 10 major US cities (from a list of the top 25 largest cities) with the highest per capita income. The data was pulled from 2019. I think at some point within the next year or two we’ll get more recent data. I didn’t find anything too surprising in this list. The only thing I found interesting was that #4 wasn’t at #1. source: https://www.statista.com/statistics/205618/per-capita-income-in-the-top-20-most-populated-cities-in-the-us/ 10. Chicago, Illinois Population: 2,678,351 PCI: $40,277 9. New York City, New York Population: 8,230,290 PCI: $43,046 8. San Diego, California Population: 1,427,720 PCI: $43,249 7. Austin, Texas Population: 978,908 PCI: $46,217 6. Denver, Colorado Population: 735,538 PCI: $47,802 5. Boston, Massachusetts Population: 692,600 PCI: 48,978 4. San Jose, California Population: 1,021,795 PCI: $51,310 3. Washington, D.C. Population: 689,545 PCI: $59,808 2. Seattle, Washington Population: 753,675 PCI: $65,205 1. San Francisco, California Population: 881,549 PCI: $75,084 I really like making these demographic threads. Will probably make more in the future. Lottie Winters 1,628
I live in Seattle and I’m actually surprised how low the number is considering how insanely expensive it is to live here.

I think it’s still fairly high. This is at the individual level not household, meaning if you take the whole city’s income and divide it by the population every person would have an income of $65,000. Plus this list just looks at the 25 largest cities. Cities like Bellevue probably have a higher PCI.

I guess it’s the “poor” sister of California cities when it comes to PCI.

I thought SJ would have a higher PCI but I think that’s because I associate the super rich suburbs like Los Altos with it. 3 minutes ago, ProfessionalClown said: The way I’m planning on moving to San Diego I’ll pray for your wallet. PCI doesn’t necessarily highlight how expensive a city is but…um…yeah SD is expensive af.

So if you move there without new job yet, you at least have to have $12K minimum since you have to save enough money to cover at least three months of living expenses.
