Yes, as you have read: this thread is made with the aim to praise the sassy and chaotic masterpiece that Aura is. Whether you prefer the unpolished and rawer demo or the more clear and polished album version (or the kinda meh Burqa demo :vegas:), the track overall is still a cracked banger that deserves more appreciation. Literally Top 5 on ARTPOP and actually one of her best written, sonically and released songs.

Wet Fire

The intro and the chorus and the "dance, sex, art, pop" segments on the album version are fire :flutter:

How is demo raw compared to the album version :triggered: I always found the demo sounding like the finished products, first verse on the album version is... Something :laughga:

Anyway, a timeless bop with one of her best choruses :flower:

I've been getting messages from my deep waters

The lead single that never was:bradley:we were robbed!:koons:

Honestly, I'm glad it wasn't released as the lead single because it'd have flopped awfully :laughga: Aura is way too experimental and unique for the GP

This! You can definitely tell that the vocals were recorded during different studio sessions on the final version. While on the demo all the vocals sound very cohesive and similar and way better than whatever is that talk-sung verse

Well... The demo's vocals got that weird filter that make them sound muddy and lower quality. The album one sounds a little bit more polished sonically (to me)

The ending of the burqa demo > the whole era.

If only infected mushroom weren't such total scumbags.

I do prefer the growly vocal version.

However, the song slays either way. That chorus is magical, the verses are strong, the instrumental- yum.

"Dance... sex... art... pop" -- I'm dancing as if I need an exorcism. Overall, a great time.

Get the pinot ready, because it's turtle time.

Prostitute Barbie

I always put it on the playlist at the dive bar I go to and it makes me so happy. I’m definitely going to play it when I go tonight. It’s in my top 10 Gaga songs because it has everything I love about her music. The chaos, the insanity, hard dance beats and lyrics that are great but don’t take themselves too serious. I do still wonder about the intro though because no matter what I do I can never hear it as “my former and” I only hear “my poor friend” :laughga:
