Available at midnight. 🎹🎤🔥❤️ AQUA IS REVITALIZING THE ICONIC LGBTI+ ANTHEM “I AM WHAT I AM” FOR COPENHAGEN 2021 WORLDPRIDE Aqua is joining hands and voices with Copenhagen 2021 WorldPride celebrating inclusivity and diversity with a re-interpretation of ‘I Am What I Am’. Aqua has engaged themselves in an ambitious creative collaboration with the Copenhagen 2021 WorldPride and global cider brand Somersby based on the idea of revitalizing the iconic anthem originally made famous by Gloria Gaynor in the early 1980’ies. On top of a donation of 500.000 Danish kroner from Somersby to Pride, the creative collaboration between Aqua, Somersby and Copenhagen 2021 is a cornerstone in an initiative by Somersby to celebrate inclusivity and diversity. Thus enabled by Somersby, the creative collaboration between Copenhagen 2021 and Aqua combines creativity and a deep and heartfelt sense of shared purpose in the mutual cause of growing the global diversity agenda. Over four decades the empowering lyrics and the chorus line of ‘I Am What I Am’ have been adopted globally by the LGBTI+ community, effectively serving a purpose as an anthem of personal freedom. Lead singer in Aqua, Lene Nystrøm is proud to be able to carry on this legacy and feels that this unique creative collaboration with the Pride movement represents a milestone opportunity for Aqua to give back to a LGBTI+ community that has always embraced the festive tonality of Aqua, says Lene Nystrøm. By releasing their first cover version ever on July 16., Aqua invites music lovers all over the world to share in celebrating the upcoming Copenhagen 2021 WorldPride event taking place on August 12.-22. in Copenhagen and Malmö.
