the first statement he said it was never clarified he was reffering to another person in her team, he just wanted to boast about how he turned down lady gaga like she was begging just because some random person emailed him offering to remix just dance without her even knowing lol, so that reply is on point.
of course the fact that she's a woman played an important role in this situation, gaga has said how women in the industry are set to a lower standard, and specially in the EDM which is dominated by just male djs and producers, i don't remember them boasting about turning down collabs between them, typical straight white male behavior, boast about women...
