-A Serbian Film (solely due to the n3wb0rn p0rn scene)

-Cannibal Holocaust (real animal cruelty)

-Antichrist (my nether regions have never recovered from the trauma of that movie)

I am kind of curious about Antichrist because I've watched some of Lars von Trier's other work, but I will admit that reading the synopsis made me clench my butthole so damn hard.

As for the other two, I have never seen them, and I have no intention of seeing them ever, and I am happy for that journey for myself. :huntyga:

Antichrist is definitely an amazing movie. It’s cinematic moments are for the history books and overall cinematography is breathtaking. It’s just a VERY disturbing and depressing movie.

A Serbian Film, if you’re desensitized to the themes in it from hearing about it so much, is actually a pretty great movie about the lengths someone will take to remain relevant but also the risks and consequences you might have to endure to be in the spotlight after your prime. It’s also apparently, by the directors tongue, a metaphor on how the Serbian government screws over the people. The newborn scene was, in my eyes, representing that straight out of the womb the government of old white men corrupt the minds of children and the way that women of the older generation give up their children to the system that shapes them to mindlessly agree to the government.

cannibal Holocaust is the OG found footage movie basically. It’s amazing BUT it’s one of the most realistic depictions of cannibalism ever. It’s terrifying but also it’s a HUGE criticism on the way foreigners and colonizers treat indigenous people and the way karma gets them in the a$$

I watched this and Jesus Christ. Wasn’t the worst movie I’ve seen tbh but I can’t believe it’s based on factual events. Obviously not the same things but stuff like that did happen in Italy during that time in the elites apparently. It’s crazy

It's not really based on factual events but on the book "the 120 days of Sodomia" wrote by Le Marquis de Sade (so a French men during the 18th century).

Pasolini, the director put the story into a fachist post WW2 mood but 95% of the movie is based on a book wrote three century before.

For some reason the video I watched about it said it was based off things that happened during the wars but like blended it with the book. Idk, I need to find the video again

This and all the other Trier movies make his own Nymphomaniac look like Bambi.
