Viral: Billie's Fans Are Cancelling Their Vinyl Orders On Tiktok

Until NDA was out I was pretty sure this album concept is going to be the Yin (with more acoustic sound, more live instruments, a bit more "airy") to her Yang (her previous album, which was very dark, heavy synth, etc...)

But I guess I was wrong  and there's no concept at all, only trying to change to a more "mature" persona. 

 

anyways, I gotta say if im ignoring the chart bs, I really enjoy the singles.

My future, Lost cause and Therefore I am - they are not that bad in my opinion.

the music is awful and not what a multi-Grammy winner should be outputting. Nothing against her personally but her latest music deserves the reception it's getting.

I for one don't see Lana Del Rey winning any of her category in those past competitions sadly. People consider Grammys or any industry award vile only when it go against their personal tastes. I can't watch what's happening, not even here on ggd. Billie is 19 and was just a kid. recently I noticed that a lot of people are trying to cancel her. People she is 19! Everybody makes some stupid mistakes, I am talking about some accusations about the music video for "lost cause" or about comparing herself to some cartoon characters who was making jokes about Black people. So what?? Do we really want the world to destroy another young, promising person ?? I would think there are tons of people here on ggd who as gaga fans, most gay or other sexual orientation people are sensitive and aware of such things. There is so much venom in some of you that any excuse is enough to confuse someone with your shît. Do you think she doesn't know that? She is 19 years old, she can definitely see what is happening on Twitter or other portals. Please, you don't have to like her music but Billie is a young person and deserves support. The writing on a billie deserves to be canceled is gross. The truth is that billie is incredibly original and it is a long time since there was such a young person with such great success. Use your ****ing brains before you write any **** on her the next time.

She should have extended her break tbh, it was too early after the success that was her last album. The new songs lack an identity, there could have been more time spent on it creatively and perhaps it was time to work with big name producers not just her basic brother. Also the industry is really focused on Olivia Rodrigo right now, and whether we like it or not they will be compared.

I don't think so. There is the one video of her mouthing a slur (or saying it, I'm not sure) while listening to a Tyler, The Creator song. She apologized for this on her Instagram, and she was like 12 in the video. She also said in her apology that her putting on voices was not an imitation or mocking of a race or culture and was just her doing exaggerated voices. 

 

Stan culture has become so unbearable recently. With the whole Lana cult thing on TikTok and people believing she burned a bible and Qu'ran and now this Billie thing. It's become a trend to hate on an artist to the point where people are competing to see who can be the most extreme and eventually it doubles back and reaches the artist. It's just bullying. People don't see celebrities as their own person, but as an invincible wall that has millions of defendants that will take the blow for them. 

I haven't kept up with Billie's newer stuff but her music bops, and I hope she doesn't get hurt from this. Stan culture has really been pushing the limits on what is acceptable recently, and I'm honestly just sick of teenagers thinking the education and knowledge they have on subjects nowadays is equal to the education many of these celebrities had when they were our age and made these mistakes. It's just pathetic and unrealistic, and is a step backwards.
