CDC: Masks in school not needed for vaccinated teachers/students

Elementary kids aren’t eligible for vaccinations yet. I work in a very conservative area and we were allowed to go maskless as long as there were no students in the building and you were vaccinated. A lot of my coworkers that were unvaccinated went maskless. Honestly the delta variant is concerning, so I’d want to do everything we can to protect people from that. But I am so tired of “policing” kids in masks. A lot of them aren’t made to wear them when they aren’t out with their parents and I spent half my day telling kids to space out and pull their masks up. I know it’s a minor inconvenience compared to people dying, so I’ll do whatever is necessary to keep people safe. I know everyone is tired of masks at this point but this pandemic is far from over.

So, everywhere I went to school asked for my shot records, they are going to ask about the Covid shot, and if you don’t have it, you’ll have to wear a mask. This is the few instances where I could actually see it work

Typically shot records are only provided when a child enrolls in a school. So for example if you don’t move schools, a parent would provide the record for a child entering kindergarten. Here in NC students then have show proof of getting the Tdap booster between 5th and 6th grade but that’s the only requirement right now. Also, teachers have never had to provide shot records. At least I haven’t. I was vaccinated through a clinic my district set up and my school nurse didn’t even know I was vaccinated. However, I could see them begin to ask for this. A lot of people have said they can’t require employees to share that information because of HIPPA but that’s not the way that law works.

Because the CDC is specifically for Americans and has different vaccines than less effective ones in other countries, which is why WHO suggests people who are vaccinated continue to wear masks since the majority of the world is not vaccinated with the three in America. Additionally, WHO is not an authority in America.

You must look to an end to this some day. Children need to see facial expressions to form healthy social skills and relationship patterns. It’s psychologically damaging for them to speak to a mannequin-like face all day.

Well here in Alabama, I think people will LIE.

The teachers last year gave barely gave a f**k about kids not wearing masks in classrooms when they are 30 students in the room siting 6 inches apart. Manifesting these kids won't be assholes.
