COOOK 76,406
I have no words. Please take time to read this. TW "Three days after the tragic event, the National Police have detained 13 people directly or indirectly involved in the events, waiting for Court Number 8 of La Coruña lift the summary of the case. However, the homophobic words spoken by one of the alleged murderers during the attack have aroused a wave of social outrage in the networks that have overshadowed the Gay Pride celebrations and provoked the reactions of multiple public personalities under the hashtag #justice on Twitter." Some of the headlines in Spain during Pride month have been all about homophobic attacks: & today there're going to be manifestations all over Spain demanding justice for Samuel. Morbid 124
I’m surprised to see something like this in Spain. Happy to see that there is a lot of national outcry about this though 😢
Juanlittlem 49,401
I read the story yesterday and the guy beating him up and coming back with a group is just so surreal. Poor guy, him being so young makes it even worst. Estàvem al cel, ara estem a l'infern

mightyriverz 2,653
A homeless trans woman was set on fire, and had to amputate both of her legs here in Brazil. How can we celebrate when we still have so much to fight for?

How can we celebrate when we still have so much to fight for? That's horrific, that poor woman I think by celebrating we bring awareness and encourage participation. Also the phrase "we have come so far but we still have a long way to go" is echoed across all Pride celebrations so its not blissfull ignorance when we celebrate (for most). Not to mention the young gay guy working on a barbershop that was killed with 3 headshots out of nowhere, I am authistic, so don't be offended if I make a mess sometimes. InTheCloset 21,757
im so sad for him. can people just let others live the way they want. im so tired and scared of all this. most believe in religion that was passed down by PEOPLE and yet they cant believe the complex human nature to love differently. how long do we have to fight for acceptance. why dont they get it. its already hard for us to accept ourselves the way we are so why dont they let us live #RaidTheCloset

That's true, I hope we're able to make people from within the community understand how much we need to stand up for our rights and be there for eachother. But sometimes it really brings my hopes down when I see gay men talking about how we should "drop the T", claiming that trans issues have been taken as priorities at the expense of "forgetting" gay men's issues, but we gay men are still very priviledged in comparison with trans people. They're only thirsty for more privileges and protagonism, when in fact the very existence of a pride month originated (at least mainly) from the resistance of POC trans women.
