There's a reason neanderthals are the only hominid species whose DNA has survived in some modern human populations. The others were too funny looking and didn't make good babies with us and being the inherently violent species that we are, it's likely we either drove them away from the resources they needed to survive or straight up speciocided them Ok this sounds super interesting, do you have more info on this? Nothing formal There's a lot of interesting theories and debates out there though over whether or not that sensation arose in humanity alongside sapience and made us mistrusting or even violent towards other hominids or if it's a survival tactic that's existed for millions of years and helps animals recognize when they might be getting deceived by a predator or prey. There's even discussions on how it might relate to prejudice as a natural instinct in humans. Not the really horrible stuff that's taught or learned but the almost uneasy feeling people get when they're around others who aren't like them. Human psychology, anthropology, and paleontology is suuuuper interesting when they come together. Whimsical bitch
