The way y'all are ignoring this part and saying the same thing as they did already, about not owning cross

That's why being small indie artist is so shitty and hard

replacing a t with a cross (considering a lower case t actually IS a cross) isn't the type of concept you get paid for, it's kind of an obvious thing to do, especially for an artist who has been doing the Jesus thing.

Never heard of them, but now I have.  I live in Montreal so they might have a following here, but other than Europe, and other French Speaking regions, this is more attention then they get as far as I know.

I didn't mean it in a shady way, I just don't think anything was taken from them, and Justin Bieber has a much bigger reach, so they're benefitting from complaining about it.

UPDATE:  I just looked them up and they are much bigger than I knew or expected.

But that honestly just makes them look petty and small.  The idea that something as basic as replacing a t with cross should be credited or compensated makes me think they are void of creativity and not that smart.

But it's not only replaced t, but the same word with replaced t

Two thing on their own are whatever , but together it looks the same

And ok, even if it's not enough to pay

It's still sh1tty to contact them, acknowledge that you know they made the same thing first

Not care and release it as your own without even mentioning their name

Especially when they are smaller now and you have your single in top 10

The ONLY similarity is replacing the T with a cross.  I'm guessing the title has more to do with the fact that Justice is like Justin.  And, Justin has been all Jesus Christ-ey for a while now.  What would he have to gain by "ripping them off"?

Good for them, I guess, this is the most relevance they've had on the world stage.

What would he gain? Having a cool and effective visual. It's not a detail when the album title font is part of what makes it iconic as with Gaga's TFM for example. Labels wouldn't invest a lot on it if it wasn't important.

The fact his team contacted them priorly about the logo proves that's not a coincidence so it's normal they don't like justin lying about finding the idea for it at some point.

what did they lose though?  an album title is not a band name.  i just don't get what was taken from them or how they were affected.  Justin's team getting in touch with them was probably just a normal due diligence thing lawyers do around trademarking, etc.  They didn't try to be shady or sly about it.  In the end the logos look nothing alike and neither the world Justice or a cross are the type of "concepts" you pay for.

Just because it doesn't effect them that much doesn't make it okay, it's still a copy, you're changing concepts. The legal identification of copy is about familiarity and similarity, if you knew about the original, even with small similarity, you would be seen as copied.

Fair enough, they are decently known here in the UK and had a couple of hits so I'm shook when someone hasn't heard of them at all :messga:

or maybe his legal team googles logos first and does due dilligence.

I'm honestly shocked people think this is some creative thing worthy of credit or compensation.

Nobody creates in a vacuum - inspiration and ideas come from all sorts of places and this doesn't look remotely like a case where you would even worry someone would be petty enough to make a deal out of it.

I just looked almost 200 million views on YouTube - that's quite large.  Just makes them seem petty to me in that case.  I personally can't imagine thinking I was doing something groundbreaking by replacing a t with cross, especially if the artist has been doing lots of Jesus stuff.

And I said above, the word Justice itself:

JUSTI (N)
JUSTI (CE)

It's all pretty basic.

Not deep to you

Deep for a band who made it first

And idk what his name has to do with it

We already acknowledge that the word itself is not a problem

If you r ally think this is the most relevance they have then you clearly don't know a lot.
