And for example, the comments of certain American users here, who now come to tell us Latinos how we should speak our own language. They are really pathetic. Fortunately Latinos no longer lower our heads before the gringos and we defend ourselves :vegas:

Okay, so what about me as a latinx person? Y’all need to stop being mamones about communities progressing and trying to be inclusive. Y’all don’t like it, don’t use it. If it doesn’t pertain to you, mind your business.

Overall, if people wanna use Latinx, let them. If they wanna use Latine, let them. If they wanna use Latin, let them. These all have the same intention of being more inclusive. If you aren’t non-cis, then just keep moving along. If a person who is cis tell you they would prefer you use that term around them AT LEAST, respect them enough to do so. It’s not that serious

Says the American :bear: Pathetic.

Is that the only argument you have? Like what does that have to do with anything when there's countless Latinos across the Americas and aren't American who support it and say the same thing as others in here about gender neutrality.

I guess when you know you're in the wrong and your narrow-minded view and traditionalist perspective has been called out, that's the only thing you can do is keep making the same tired excuses :bear:

Pathetic :bear:

You know you have lost and your opinion is meaningless when you resort to an insult, such as the Spanish word you used. If you don't like my opinion, don't quote me. Mind your own business.

You’re the one calling people pathetic so your opinion is just as meaningless. :classy: I didn’t start with the insults. It will be an issue when you’re generalizing people as pathetic and invalidating their opinions. Obviously, non-POC’s opinions don’t hold as much weight or validity BUT there ARE people who prefer the term Latinx and use it. Calling the people that are POC who do prefer the term pathetic is insulting, rude, and a generalization

The word you used is more offensive and you resorted to it because that's what people who have no better arguments resort to. And you are also generalizing people as "mam0ne$" when they are just defending their language. progressives, you say? There's nothing progressive about that word, it's just wrong, it's a word invented by Americans who think they have the right to rule over the lives of others, when "latinos" is already a word that includes all genders. But that's ok, I get your point. If you want to use the word latinx, go ahead, but don't come and impose on the rest of us the use of a word that is simply not right in our language.

And just what I mean by your last paragraph. That is why I emphasize your nationality. Typical American behavior, trying to tell others that they are the narrow minded ones, as if Americans were the center of the universe, Americans are the open minded ones and that everything has to be the way they say it has to be, because they think they own everyone. NO!

Can someone explain what's wrong with saying "Latinx"? I am out of the loop. New day, new word that's offensive.

The vast majority of us Latinos don't identify with that word. Simple as that.

Question to my Hispanic friends on GayGayDaily:

Do you like the term Latinx? I actually use it fairly often (I’m Mexican) out of habit. Curious to see what y’all think.

def not it just seems like a term american SJW's are trying to force on us when Latinos is already used as a gender neutral term, or if you feel like we need a separation from the typical, Latin@ term then Latines feels much more appropriate

This.

Like am I actually seeing "colonialism" and "colonizer" as an excuse for having prejudice when Spanish itself is a perpetrator of colonialism and tool of colonizers to take away indigenous people's identities. Like wtf :triggered:

How very shortsighted and just plain ignorant of the history of colonialism, not to mention the fact that Spanish and these languages are inherently anti-gender neutral to begin with and the term "Latino" is NOT gender neutral at all :smh:

Lmao you don't speak Spanish then or you were taught wrong if you think "Latino" isn't gender neutral. A quick Google search shows it is gender neutral.

Lmao they blocked my signature
