Texas hospital fires 153 employees for refusing COVID vaccine

Context: They were told in March/April if by June 7 they weren’t vaccinated they would be suspended and then had until June 21 to get vaccinated. 

The employees lost a law suit and even protested but lost it all.

People who work in health and refuse to take vaccines should have their degrees and license to practice removed from them.

I thought employers couldn’t do that? Or is this different because they are in the medical field?

It seriously blows my mind when I hear of someone who works in the medical field and starts spouting out Anti-Vax nonsense!

I heard an interview with one of the nurses that was fired. She was delusional. Her arguments made no sense. She said she was waiting for FDA approval then she said if the FDA approved it she still wasn't going to do it.

Hospitals put the safety of patients above healthcare workers. They also make the flu shot mandatory. So in this case they can because it's for the safety of patients. That's why the employees lost the lawsuit.

If they had meetings with these people and explained to them why the vaccines are safe and they STILL refused, then the only hospital they should be in is a mental hospital.  

I'm sure they accommodated for allergies and those rare one-off situations, so I'm happy for the message this decision sends.

I can't disagree with you. Imagine working on the health sector (based on science) and reject getting vaccinated even when that could mean putting others in danger.

I work in healthcare, and have been working with covid patients for the past 6 months. I myself and a lot of my co-workers have had doubts about the vaccine, and some didn’t go get the vaccine. 
 

I am all pro vaccine, but I am also pro choice. Fact is that this vaccine hasn’t been around for that long, we don’t know what it will do over a longer period of time. 
 

For you to judge people who help other people day in day out. because they are unsure about the vaccine makes me sick to my stomache.
