Why is Taylor's graphic design so bad?

Taylor is basically the ultimate pop star. She delivers huge amounts of consistently high quality music - this year receiving her THIRD aoty Grammy. Her videos are generally great, her tours are huge, she has by far the best connection with her fanbase and constantly provides fun content for them.

So I can't understand why her graphic design is consistently awful she puts so much effort into everything else, why does she let it down by approving such poor designs?

I think the Lover cover was definitely the nadir, truly serving Graphic Design is My Passion

Reputation looked like an amateur fan art attempt.

There weren't really any single covers that era but the official remix covers were even worse

Folklore and Evermore were spared because their minimalist style meant there wasn't much that could go wrong.

I thought she'd turned a new leaf but then she revealed these lol

 

Obviously it doesn't detract much from her work, but I just can't understand why someone who is such an obsessive perfectionist and who has arguably the best team in the game can't seem to hire some good graphic designers

lover and love story are good, in my opinion, but i totally agree with reputation. the fanbase wets themselves over the rep cover but i think it looks awful

the red cover is also serving disney star gone country pop vibes

All of those examples are horrible, especially for an A-List artist  the concept of Reputation was good but the execution was 🤡

i don't like the reputation photo, but the graphics are okay
fonts from newspapers or something

fearless was made with that 2010 vibe i think, that's why

and albums like red, 1989, folklore and evermore look really great so it's not like everything from her is ugly

I really think some huge artists and their labels just don't want to waste money on designers, because this is the problem for many acts, not only Taylor

I didn’t hate Lover but Reputation was rough. However, 1989 is perfection.

Why does this site have such a fixation with graphic design, and such a lack of understanding that tastes differ? None of the graphic design I’ve seen complaints about recently are actually bad. Maybe the problem is that a lot of these threads are just pretentiousness. Besides that, the music is far more important than an album cover that will inevitably be rendered dated anyways. Stop worrying about the things that literally don’t matter.
