“Empathy is the capacity to understand or feel what another person is experiencing from within their frame of reference, that is, the capacity to place oneself in another's position.”

sometimes people get tired when the same person is always playing the victim. maybe 10,000 self victimization ploys ago, i would have been a little more empathetic. :emma:

But that wasn’t the case here? Demi thought the fan was fat-shaming, fan said they weren’t, Demi laughed and apologized, the end. Demi didn’t even go off at them.

Why is Demi, who is EXTREMELY fragile 24/7, still interacting on social media THIS much? Girl, unplug!!!

I empathize with the fan <3

I do as well, i cant imagine how stressful those moments were in between messages. Ive actually had (minor) celebs misunderstand a comment of mine before and it does make your stomach turn. But she did apologize.

I also empathize with people who have legions of “fans” who feel entitled to everything. Feel like they can say whatever they want but should only be treated like fragile pieces of art.

i also empathize with celebrities who have to have perfect responses and perfect reactions to the hundreds of thousands of people that try and reach out to them. Id be willing to be more than half the messages demi has gotten since that debacle were negative and made her incredibly more sensitive than ever before. She even went out of her way to apologize. If you can pick and choose when to be empathetic good for you. But in situations like this its more than obviously a misunderstanding.

I appreciate that Demi was very quick to admit the mistake (and even send a voice message! any other celeb would maybe ignore, block or just publicly denounce you). I can't really blame her for the reaction considering she constantly deals with so much negativity from others. When you go through that a lot, some things that most consider inoffensive and dismiss as such, well... they affect you differently and that can cause the wrong reactions at times.

They could have asked before jumping conclusions but I didn't expect anything else from they.

They is a mess.

If I got a random pregnant emoji I'd think the same thing. They were quick, responsive, and friendly when she told them otherwise.
