Most of you have no idea what it's like to be (percieved as) a woman and the major role your hair plays. So keep your childish remarks to yourself maybe?

I totally get why they felt the need to cut their hair. I felt that need myself at age 13. Also I am treated completely differently (by men) when I'm blonde as apposed to brunette, which was pretty scary sometimes as a teenager. Luckily it hasn't stopped my from bleaching my hair when I feel like it.

According to Gaga I'm a ****ing rad bitch

The comments of this thread are so unbashedly disrespectful I can't believe you all call yourselves Lady Gaga fans.

Former First Lady of the United States. Now card-carrying member of the Communist Party of China (CPC).

Are you serious? Those are two notable exceptions. In the 60s long hair on men was literally seen as criminal in countries like England before it became fashionable, and there are still so many negative stereotypes about short haired women. Ask any woman with short hair, I'm sure she's had a man tell her she would be much prettier with longer hair or was encouraged to grow her hair out.

Obviously times have changed and androgyny is more in style now but to act like a woman cutting off all her hair is meaningless or has no stigma is just being willfully blind.

I'm not saying it is a huge big deal but it's not quite as meaningless as painting your nails or plucking your brows or something.
