All the companies that are making the vaccines now are researching boosters. That makes sense because circulating antibody levels naturally diminish over time, but our immune system does have those memory cells that last a lifetime. Also, The flu seems to have a higher mutational rate in its proteins that our immune system should recognize, therefore we need shots every year. The coronavirus is a bit different and vaccinated folks can eliminate the variants pretty well so far. We should still be optimistic even if we need boosters in the future! 19 minutes ago, alsemanche said: That's great news!! Fantastic! Also these doses don't need -80 Celsius for storage which will making shipping and transport much more efficient and easier! You chew beef, I wear meat. No shade to mRNA tho 8 minutes ago, BloodyMary08 said: Will the countries outside of the US get this too? We are swimming in vaccines here in the US. Most likely once it is approved elsewhere, it will be predominantly used outside of the US. Hopefully you get access soon! You chew beef, I wear meat. And unlike some people say, mRNA vaccines didn't just arise for covid, mRNA has been studied for vaccine use for about three decades.

Nothing at all! mRNA vaccines are amazing at what they do and safe! I definitely think we're going to see more mRNA vaccines in the future for other viruses and perhaps even cancer.
