Jessie J Supposedly Approached to Represent the UK or Eurovision 2022

ABBA did it twice, we entered engelbert humperdinck and Bonnie Tyler recently too :laughga:

Jessie could smash out a song like Euphoria by Loreen and notch it up, deliver the best thing known to earth and end world hunger... and still the UK would lose.

I'm not that familiar with Eurovision but why are some of you saying she'd get 0 votes?

Damn...the negativity, delusion, and disrespect in this thread. Jessie's powerhouse vocals and artistry remain unbothered :legend:

I thought Eurovision was meant for unknown artists. I know Jessie lost the hype around her but she shouldn’t act so... defeated (I guess?)

ABBA were the one big exception but who else?

I don’t know, maybe that Dion Celine girl that sang the soundtrack song for that sinking ship movie Tantinic or something. Or maybe the highest selling Latin music artist and father of Enrique Iglesias, Julio Iglesias? Euphoria was a European sized mega hit. Duncan Laurence is currently charting in the States. Månskin just charted with a second song in the UK charts. But yeah, keep living in your wrong informed bubble. Can’t wait for another bible from you with false information I won’t respond to.

Ok, Celine as well. Honestly, I never knew Julio competed in Eurovision. But ok, then, 3 exceptions. That's not many for a contest that's been going as long as it has. Euphoria was Loreen's only hit, no one knows her now. I forgot Duncan Laurence as soon as he won and couldn't even remember him at all when the contest came back this year. Maneskin are doing well at the moment but we'll see if their lucky streak continues. I'm not wrong informed, just realistic. If you look at the history of UK winners and what they did after the show, it's not good. I'm talking from researched experience. Pardon me for being somewhat insulted to hear my country spoken of so disparagingly. We have good reason for treating the contest like we do. There's no need to respond so rudely.

Then why are Eurovision artists having more succes than her right now with her new single? :ohwell:

I love Jessie and I’m a huge stan, but saying somebody is too good for Eurovision shows that you never invested in Eurovision or you are from the UK.

You can’t expect good results without putting effort in something. I don’t get why that’s not clicking.

But putting in effort is subjective when it comes to songs. I've seen terrible songs do great at Eurovision, explain that? I'm telling you that even when the UK wins, the winners careers tend to end afterwards, which is why British singers have reservations about entering. I don't get why that's not clicking.

Galagala

As an Asian, I felt weird when she was willing to participate in China's talent shows. It's like she was struggling in her career and couldn't figure out the right path for herself.

Showing up in every big tv show doesn't make your career better.

You having a bad taste or not seeing that Europe can have a different taste from yours? It’s not StrawberryVision thank god.

Last time the UK won was in what? 1997? 10 years before the iPhone was created. Eurovision isn’t the same as back then. Eurovision will give you exposure to 200 million+ people.

If the Dutch A-stars can go to Eurovision, not even winning yet resulting in international careers, then why are the British so cocky? Because it won’t launch the career into a Gaga career of 10 years? Eurovision is the biggest jump start you can get, it’s up to the artist to stay relevant afterwards. That’s not on Eurovision but on each artist and their teams. If they manage to fail, that’s on themselves. Literally 90% of the countries are taking it dead serious now, you guys just made yourself look like clowns to the rest of Europe. And you guys think we are the clowns. Fine. We are not gonna agree, but I already learned that from you previous posts about the subject.
