JusKeepBreathin 19,311
Does Lossless CD quality sound different from standard streaming? Apple Senior VP doesn't think so. Eddy Cue is Apple’s senior vice president of services and the person who oversees Apple Music. “The reality of lossless is: if you take 100 people and you take a stereo song in lossless and you take a song that’s been in Apple Music that’s compressed, I don’t know if it’s 99 or 98 can’t tell the difference.” “You can tell somebody, ‘Oh, you’re listening to a lossless [song],’ and they tell you, ‘Oh, wow. That sounds incredible.’ They’re just saying it because you told them it’s lossless and it sounds like the right thing to say, but you just can’t tell.” Basically Apple thinks we can feed them dog food and say it's steak and people will believe it. Seems on brand for any tech company. And this is the problem with Spatial Audio in quotes which he seems to think is a benefit. “This requires somebody who’s a sound engineer, and the artist to sit back and listen, and really make the right calls and what the right things to do are,” Cue told Billboard about mixing for spatial audio. “It’s a process that takes time, but it’s worth it.” It's the work of some sound engineer reworking a song that you already love. In other words it's not what Gaga, Beyonce, Rihanna etc, intended for you to hear. That's why there is so much difference of opinion on whether people like the Chromatica album in "Spatial Audio." It's a sound engineers remix. https://www.theverge.com/platform/amp/2021/6/9/22525028/apple-music-spatial-audio-dolby-atmos-hands-on "Nothing in the world is more dangerous than sincere ignorance and conscientious stupidity." -Martin Luther King Jr.

So doesn't that contradict your statement ? 9 minutes ago, JusKeepBreathin said: In other words it's not what Gaga, Beyonce, Rihanna etc, intended for you to hear. Also, artists like Taylor Swift have been promoting the Dolby Atmos version of their songs. Would they be doing that if they didn't approve of the final mix ? HausOfAntonio 8,021
Idk I’m just enjoying listening to new parts of songs I’m really familiar with in the jew mixes, I don’t really care if they’re what Gaga intended or not Its not like OG Chromatica vanished, anyway. INNA 3,788
It’s definitely a niche thing that most people aren’t going to want to fool with. But there are also many audiophiles out there so it’s a huge success IMO, making it more mainstream accessible. fragment-fragment--bul-uh...scab-uh..fragment-foot, bullet fragment foot bich!
