Can’t believed people still use windows as their personal computers. My work laptop is a windows HP and I hate it so much

Why do you hate it? It may be your computer and not Windows per say..

I had multiple Asus and I had a TERRIBLE experience with all of them because the manufacturer gave crap support when it came to drivers, making Windows 10 unstable. I now have an HP for 3 years now and no issue what so ever

I hope they do keep going with new Windows versions. It would be boring to keep it at 10 indefinitely. I was always so excited to see the new versions.

Windows 10 is awful compared to Windows 7 so I hope they'll make huge improvements with 11

Microsoft has been hinting at a possible new version of Windows. Two days ago, however, they posted a video titled "Windows | Startup Sounds – Slo-fi Remix", which is literally a slowed down version of the Windows start-up sound. The description of the video reads:

"Having trouble relaxing because you’re too excited for the June 24th Microsoft Event? Take a slow trip down memory lane with the Windows 95, XP, and 7 startup sounds slowed down to a meditative 4,000% reduced speed. "

The video is conveniently exactly 11 minutes long, seemingly hinting that Windows 11 will be announced/released/teased/something at the June 24th event (which starts at 11AM ET).

BBC: "Windows 10 to be retired in 2025, as new OS unveils"

"Microsoft says it will stop supporting Windows 10 in 2025, as it prepares to unveil a major revamp of its Windows operating system later this month.

When Windows 10 was launched, Microsoft said it was intended to be the final version of the operating system.

But from 14 October 2025, there will be no new updates or security fixes for either the Home or Pro versions.

And Microsoft says its successor will represent one of the "most significant updates" to the OS in the past decade."

The rest: https://www.bbc.com/news/technology-57443598

Excited about next week!

Cuz every professional gamer uses Windowd computers. Apple sucks and gamers know that + apple is overpriced for the specs it has.

"Microsoft has been working on a new app store for Windows in recent months, alongside some significant UI changes to the operating system. Nadella appears to reference the store changes here, with a promise to unlock a better economy for developers and creators within Windows itself.

This will likely include some significant changes to the Windows Store, allowing developers to submit any Windows application — including browsers like Chrome or Firefox. Rumors have suggested Microsoft may even allow third-party commerce platforms in apps, so developers could avoid Microsoft’s own 15 percent cut on apps and 12 percent cut on games.

Nadella’s specific mention of a “next generation of Windows” is interesting, too. Microsoft typically refers to everything as “Windows 10,” and this language could suggest the company is preparing a more significant shift with Windows branding than just the user interface alone."

We've by the way seen a (Windows 10) beta with completely new colored icons
