'Impossible Princess' which came out before Ray of Light

Omg? And all those years on Twitter etc, people saying Impossible Princess was inspired by ROL? Wtf, I had no idea IP came first.

Anyways this album is a masterpiece.

My top 4 in no specific order :
Dreams
This Girl
Limbo
Breathe

Anyways did y'all have a hard time getting into this album?

I was hooked on the album right at the beginning of Too Far, simply because it sounded so different from what I knew from her, and was very interested to hear her experiment

I know she had a hard time with this album and she said she'd never make another record like that, but I seriously pray she'll make something similar on the future, something experimental and retrospective about her life, career, fortune etc... Maybe even her experience with cancer. It'd be so damn interesting

My Queen always slays. So proud to represent her on here. :whitney:

Also Ray Of Light came out 4 months after Impossible Princess, and recording was essentially finished as IP was released. So you can't exactly compare the two. :flop:

Yes. I think my biggest problem with the album is that most of the songs are sung in what sounds like sharp notes. They don't sit in a complimentary way to most ears'. I'm wondering if there's any other people with a musical background who feel similar.

Too Far is a very polarizing introduction to the album that frankly I do not appreciate.
Once I skip the first track, the next few tracks are all pretty good.
I do like Cowboy Style thru to Say Hey. It's a strong line up of songs, and the strongest songs on the album.
I don't like Drunk at all.
I Don't Want Anyone I like, but in the context of the album, I really don't think it fits sonically.
I don't like Jump, Limbo or Through the Years.
Dreams is okay, but not okay enough for me want to listen to it on its own.
I don't like Love Takes Over Me or Tears.
This Girl, I quite like.

It was hard for me- because I was sucker of her dance hits, I think Bedtime Stories helped me to get through the album.

Impossible Princess was very easy to get into for me.

Maybe because as an Australian, we always embraced the album when the rest of the world didn't, and it really resonated with us. It's one of my favourite albums of hers.
