What does "It" mean to you?

The new up and coming that everyone is excited for.

The prominence of an "It Girl" is often temporary; some of the rising It Girls will either become fully-fledged celebrities, commonly initially via engineering appearances on reality TV shows or series; lacking such an accelerant, their popularity will normally fade.

The ones you mentioned are passed their "it" face. They're known established and respected actresses.

For me it's Anya Taylor Joy, everyone is like expecting to see what she does next to praise it and comment on it. Ana De Armas is coming next, her Marilyn Monroe role is already making people talk about her a lot, so I think when the Anya buzz starts to fade, Ana De Armas is going to be the next IT actress of the moment.

Ok I got it now. Then I'll post some other names.

Your picks are awesome but they are respected enough to be considered "it", famous and on demand definitely but "it" doesn't do it justice to them. ❤️

I remember the buzz for Lupita Nyongo in 2012-2014, she was in every red carpet and every show on TV and every news portal were talking about her and what would she wear next or what her next role was going to be. I felt like it was worth mentioning because I remember thinking: wow, this girl made it, she really is IT right now, isn't she?

The same with JLaw and Emma Stone.

Jessica Chastain, she was in IT Chapter Two

Why are people lmao-ing this - she's genuinely great and has a lucrative career :cryga:

I was offended too and was ready to fight and then I got the joke :air:

I don't know if she was ever an "it girl" (maybe around 2012 when she got discovered with big roles in big movies), but she's amazing :bradley:

Except Zendaya, all the other actresses have already established their careers and are too old to be the "it" girl NOW. For example, Jennifer Lawrence was exactly a "it" girl but in around 2013.

Zendaya, Anya Taylor Joy.... these are the new ones who just had their career breakthrough and got biggest support/most projects from industry now.

See, I would say that I was too offended to get the joke and that's why I only got it just now, but I'm just stupid... I was too offended tho :vegas:

I mean, she kinda was the it girl during Zero Dark Thirty and Molly's Game, those were big movies with a lot of buzz, but she also kinda has that brand of an actress who does darker thriller stuff and obscurer movies with political commentary (even if they're not) instead of being more of a pop culture idol marketed to teens - reminds me a bit of Rachel Weisz when she had a streak of gritty thrillers
