It's not about shitting in a diaper because you did that when you were an infant. And I find it quite backwards to suggest that people become gay or any identity of the LGBTGIA+ spectrum over time, which would imply that heterosexuality is the default and the norm. Self discovery is a long process and may take many years, self expression is about the choices you make. Born This Way means being born with the divine authority to be your truth. For me, Born This Way is a way of simply stating that heterosexuality is not the default and that we're all born HUMAN and our individual paths and sexualities are valid because we deserve the right to be respected for our humanity on a base level. It's about how we have things about us that we cannot change because those things were decided when we were in the womb such as our ethnicities and the colour of our skin which is why she lists them to show that we're all the same. No matter what we look like on the outside we share the same DNA, but we are also unique individuals because that's how we are supposed to be. So the outcast who feels like a freak listens to the song and knows that there's nothing wrong with them because God intended for them to be this way, and then they hopefully feel inspired to be braver and live their life the way they were born to live it which means born to be free to be who they are.
