I am really glad I was am avid reader as a child and Harry Potter was just another series for me. I've read many other books better than Harry Potter before. BTW Harry Potter is just the copy of The Books of Magic comic book - That is also SOOOOOOOOOO MUCH BETTER and imaginative.

I couldn't get through the Fowl series because they were so badly written and I had absolutely no attachment to the characters at all. Glad u enjoyed them tho

All of the main actors have since denounced JK’s stance on trans women, saying they all support trans folk regardless of the creator’s views.

The nostalgia many of us have for HP just feels like comfort and simpler times. The text itself is a little basic, but it doesn’t reflect her stance on this issue at all. Everything was published, filmed and released far before this asshole ever came out as transphobic.

You can condemn JK for being mean and unaccepting, but let the fans have their memories. No one is holding on to HP because they believe in taking trans rights away, unless they’re one of those weirdos who buys out the Goya section because the Trumps suddenly start endorsing it.

I haven’t gone back to any of the films or books since her letter last year. Yes it all meant a lot to me growing up but it’s like the work is tainted forever for me. Not interest in it anymore.

Exactly. Fun fact: up until fairly recently horror was the only genre that lgbt+ characters were in. Horror is all about feeling "other" and "different" and who knows that better than lgbt+ people. I guses the freaks really are the most inclusive
