Underwhelmed by ADIAML ?

I really enjoy Man's World...

I found ADIAML good during first listen, but then I felt conflicted because the lyrics don't seem to work with the music. The lyrics are kind of forced and they don't translate to the song structure. Same thing happened with Purge The Poison, which I didn't like since first listen.

No, PTP and ADIAML are amazing and Man's World is growing on me and starting to sound cohesive with the other 2.

Ancient Dreams is nice, but the rest is nothing special.

ADIAML is one of the best songs she has ever released, Man’s World has been a repeat since it came out, and Purge the Poison is a really fun song! I’m really excited for the album release!

I’m in the same boat as the OP. So far I haven’t been blown away by this album cycle. They’re fine songs, but seem to lack the seemless earworms of her earlier albums. I’ll support the queen nevertheless.

Been a cuff touple, a puff bupple, a tough couple of years.

No not at all. This is what ive been waiting for from Marina and I cant wait to hear it all

In regards to lyrics, I would rather have a long winded verse that dosent rhyme but is making me think about life in a whole new way rather than a perfectly on the beat verse / chorus where they have to restrict lyrical content to how it 'fits' If ya get me, we have many other artists for that

So far I’m loving this more than love + fear and FROOT. This album could possibly take place as my fave marina album besides Electra heart.

There's something different about how she's been writing lyrics since L+F and I'm not sure if I like it or not.

I noticed that too! Her lyrics have been lacking creativity after Froot imo :(

Lyrically it’s definitely her best work so far, but I’m not crazy about the production.

I love the direction she's going, Purge the poison and ADIAML were a lot to take in at first but after a few listens I was hooked. I can't wait for the album :firega:

I love the Songs so far, last time with L+F i LOVED Handmade heaven, found Superstar okay and HATED Orange Trees

So far its

Man's world: 8,5 / 10

Purge the Poison: 9,5 / 10

Ancient Dreams: 7 / 10

Purge the Poison is one of my favorite songs EVER. It's structure is so unique and powerful, the lyrics are perfect and she seems so happy in the video

ADIAML dissapointed me a little bit because it gives me similar vibes as Purge the poison, just not as good, it's a faboulous song but not single material for me (just because Purge was so great)

I'm SO excited for the album and i can't wait for some slow and emotional ballads ala Happy & Soft to be strong

I feel like the music is back to the punch and energy I loved in her releases before L+F, but there's something... off about the lyrics, at least for me.

Both songs feel like statements she wrote out, and then tried to make them fit to the music while she sang... if that makes sense :wtfga: they feel awkward, long and clunky. There's something different about how she's been writing lyrics since L+F and I'm not sure if I like it or not.

Speaking of PTP and ADIAML, I think there is just a lot of lyrics and maybe we are not used to that anymore. But even though I like the songs, the themes and her vocals on it. I feel like they are lacking some catchy hooks.
