Nano 3,744
Preliminary results in a trail with over 600 people show the benefits of mixing COVID vaccines! Participates received Oxford-Astrazeneca as their first dose then got the Pfizer-BioNTech shot later. https://www.nature.com/articles/d41586-021-01359-3?utm_source=Nature+Briefing&utm_campaign=b68a41bc5f-briefing-dy-20210520&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_c9dfd39373-b68a41bc5f-43799665 A trial in Spain of 600 participants showed that people who received the AstraZeneca vaccine and then the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine had "higher levels of antibodies than they did before, and these antibodies were able to recognize and inactivate SARS-CoV-2 in laboratory tests." “These responses look promising and show the potential of heterologous prime–boost regimens,” says Dan Barouch, director of the Center for Virology and Vaccine Research at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, Massachusetts. Robo Ga 15,614
This is promising. My father got a first dose of AZ and then our government paused the rollout so we don’t know yet what he will get for his 2nd dose and he is high risk 🤖⚡️
Joshie S 6,556
I've been wondering about this! Thank you for sharing. I've had the AZ shot, however I'd love the chance to be able to eventually be able to potentially take the Pfizer. Obviously I'm in no rush at all, as I'd rather people who haven't been vaccinated at all to have the chance to get the jab, however I'm immune compromised so further decreasing my risk of catching covid makes me very hopeful for the future. OhHenny2020 2,822
Both my parents got AZ in March (with no side effects) and they now want to get Pfizer for their second shot. Hopefully, more information comes out about this, I had my hesitations with my Dad getting AZ the first time (he’s on blood thinners, has heart problems). Kadikaado 4,302
Cool, I saw that at the news yesterday and I was wondering how vaccines that work on different ways could work together, I am happy that it happened anyway. I am authistic, so don't be offended if I make a mess sometimes.
