A block sounds too far away for a quick response if some crazed MAGA starts shooting up the crowd. You remind me that it's such a wonderful thing to love. Pride of all events should be inclusive and sending officers to pride will help heal some divisions by showing the public they mean well and giving the officers a welcoming exposure to LGBT+ culture. Banning people from anything is stupid. Also less police protection for a parade of any kind is stupid. I was thinking to attend pride this year. But I guess I am not doing it because I'm not stupid. Read before you comment LOL I read in NYT that they are being required to stay at least a block away from the event, and that “private security” would be hired in their place... Like wtf is private security gonna do when a psycho with a machine gun decides to light the event up from a building?? I don’t understand how this makes any sense.
