I was thinking this movie to be a prequel to the Glenn Close movies, since the first one came out in 1996 and ig also is set in that year. So it would work with the timeline, and Cruella being younger in the 1970s only makes more sense this way. Though Anita is now played by a black woman, so that's a continuity problem, at least if you wanna keep it realistic. Maybe it's not meant to be the same Anita, she seems a very different person, not just in looks. Anyway, it wouldn't make sense to be a prequel to the animated version since that one came out in 1961 and again ig is also set in that year and this new movie is set in the 1970s. How does het origin story take place 10 years in the future? For now I like to see this as a new adaption, not as a prequel to allready existing movies.

Very much looking forward to watching it. I have to admit, the trailers kinda turned me off seeing all the visual effects and whatnot, in the sense that it looks like a borderline-action film. But we’ll see what happens.  I LOVE the character of Cruella from Glenn Close, she was basically one of my idols growing up.

Well, i am not against it, but your movie must be utterly Scheiße to receive bad first reactions. 

I still think this will be a good movie, Emma Stone has the power to save the whole movie if needed.

I have faith in this because the director and one of the writers have made films I loved (The Favourite (2018) and I, Tonya (2017). I hope it's at least as good as Cinderella (2015). Lettuce pray.

I'm ALL for inclusion, I think its extremely important to diversify and do better in media, but I hate when they change a characters race just to force diversity! Sometimes characters just are white people!

its a different Anita. The cartoon is Anita Radcliffe, but the first live action its Anita Dearly and Cruella its Anita Darling...
but she was a fashion designer in those films as well i believe?

but the movies didn't really show that aspect too much. 

I'm just surprised there's so much positivity about a movie almost everyone was already unsure of but I guess paid reviews can do that. Unless the movie is actually good, we'll just have to wait and see.
