It's not looking like enough people will actually get the shots to achieve herd immunity so they need to shift gears to outreach programs to convince more folks to get their doses. Because its the richest country on earth and we have access to produce lots of vaccines (we already have a large surplus at this current rate). Not to mention that if the US gov wants to continue to pretend to be the global superpower then its time for the country to step up when it's actually needed.
