What Israel has been doing the past couple of weeks is inexcusable and so are many of its policies since day 1. But it's just not that simple. If hundreds of books have been written on this maybe it's for a reason.

They’ve been doing it for years and what they are doing is wrong. Every time Palestinians did something, it was because they were provoked to just so Israel could make it into something that it’s not. And no I am not saying that all of the people livin in in Israel are bad but majority is supporting this and that will never be okay.

Wow colonialism on the 21st century, you think that’s from 500 years ago but no, seems like we’ve learned NOTHING from history. :triggered:

History is so f****ng important to really understand the reality of this world but media, education is so stupid to encourage ignorance on a vicious cycle

I have two point to make about the posts though I do agree with a lot of what is says.  If I write this whole thing is because I assume you are smart and curious to perhaps expand your understanding of this situation since you posted on so many of these threads, I doubt anyone will read this.

The claims of peaceful coexistence prior to Israel's establishment ... The first massacres against  happened decades before the establishment of Israel when they made up less than 15% of population. What triggered the first massacre? they demonstrated because they wanted the western wall to be recognised as a jewish holy site. what did  arabs do as soon as they took control of Jerusalem in 1945? they expelled every single jew from Jerusalem and destroyed 34 out of 35 the synagogues in the city. The crimes of today are not an excuse to whitewash the region's history of antisemitic tendencies, and these are two tiny examples from 100 years ago and 75 years ago, imagine all the ones prior we haven't heard of. Israel has been racist and double sided but if that's not an example of ethnic cleansing and rewriting history I don't know what is.

the use of colonial implies foreignness and evokes European imperialism. You won't find thousand years old English writing in Australia, are you?  Or cities founded by them prior to colonisation? Is English related to Aboriginal languages or to European languages? Are Australians part of the region's history at all prior to colonisation? Did most Australians live around oceania by the time of colonisation? Did the British colonisers sent to Australia not have a country of their own to begin with, that is, Britain? was there uninterrupted British presence in Australia since ancient times?  You won't find any shared genetics between Australians and Aboriginal peoples, are you?  Did Australians see millions of their nation assassinated in death camps when they realised only self determination would guarantee their safety  ? Did the Australians take a real risk when they moved to a massive and underpopulated island in the middle of nowhere? or was it an unstable and minuscule resrouce-worthless strip of land completely surrounded by enemies trying to kill them, further proving it's more than just an opportunistic land grab?

The best part is that most of my Israeli friends think I'm super pro Palestinian but  when reading this you probably think the total opposite, It's just that I don't give a free pass to be radical and simplistic to either party. Im always calling Israel out on their bullsheet too if Israelis go on a rant about how unjustified  Palestinians' feelings are. but here what I see is people justifying t****rism  and saying Israel is a made up nation, which is incredibly hurtful to a people that have gone to hell and back to preserve their national identity for centuries and despite all odds. I say what I think needs to be said, call it petty if you wish.

I care about both and am personally very involved with both, so many of my friends and of my best memories are in Israel/Palestine. it pains me to see so much hate and believe it doesn't have to be this way. None of this rant is justifying the occupation and apartheid of the West Bank and all that jazz, but saying : it's not that simple.

You make it sound like Israelies appeared out of no where in 1945, the Israeli militants have already arrived were already there years before and expelled many Palestinians upto the events of 1948.

I believe you are well-intended but this is utter-bs :smh: that is the dumbest reason I ever heard. It is like you are saying African- Americans can go back to Africa, kill and expel people since it is technically there ancestry land. Same goes for White Americans  in Europe.

It is colonialism 100% .The land was under the Ottoman control, by Force up-to the world wars. The British take over by Force and made a treaty with the Palestinians that they will be “freed” meanwhile they also made a treaty with European jewish leaders to give them the land. If this not “how to continue indirectly without being involved” I wonder what is. Whether the 2000 yo book says that it, is irrelevant and bs

That aside, nowadays you can’t expel the Israelies nor the Palestinians and as you said it is not an easy solution. IT IS NOT an equally powered two sided conflict. Israel is cleaer an oppressor with power and control over all the resources. They always advertise it as a religious driven issue but in fact it is not.

Any first step has to come from the state in power and only them. Without that change, they are no different than previous apartheid states like in SA and should be treated as so.

Unrelated but I hate this freaking meme :toofunny: someone clearly drew either a six or a nine. Like, look for a point of reference around the number on the ground to see which side is up :neyde:

But it's not actually a matter of angels so your use of that meme isn't right here. Muslims, Jews and Christians used to live peacefully in Palestine, and even under the British mandate, that before one side decided to take over and eliminate the other side, which is still happening to this day. We're talking ethnic cleansing here, literally.

Thank you @Regina George for making this thread to raise awareness about the situation in Palestine.

For those who don't want to spend time reading history or looking up sources, you can simply check what's happening right now in one of Jerusalem's Arab neighborhoods called Sheikh Jarrah, where 500 Palestinians are facing forced disposition from their own legal houses in favor of Israeli settlers and organizations. This is pure colonialism.

I like it how pluralism works around here, anything but the Palestinian narrative is at best case scenario being fraud upon,

I'm part of the Jewish population in Palestina Land of Israel, before the mandate, I had my family living in east Jerusalem for hundreds of years until Jordanian occupation in 1948, I am lucky enough to have seen the family lands in east Jerusalem being rebought from the invaders and settled once again by my Jewish brothers and sisters, some of them as native as me, and some of them are 'new', but all are Jewish and accepted by my Jewish point of view.

That's a different story of what all of you try and compare it to. In this case 'Native Americans' for the sake of the example, came back after 2000y and joined their brothers and sisters in the same land, you're glorifying the wrong side.

Sorry for the Muslim population, but it's really all we got, and in my case, I can't even apply for an other native citizenship other than Ottoman. I have as an Arabi speaker, tons of Muslim friends, we go out together, we work together, we live together, most of them already have an Israeli ID and they are dear to me as family.

Wish you had the courage to pick at right wing opinion seriously about that matter, as I figure it's a thing that is very hard to do after it's behavior in US.

I will add that I feel personally attacked by this demagogue behavior of mods, and members, but that's just me. 99% of the time I would just ignore it and concentrate on the music, but that one percent of me being attacked in my own city for over a week in different cases up to the point they figured I'm 'Arab' (wa7d menna, khaliho - talking about racism) and having a friend injured after a rocket missed him while he was running with friends in Abu Gosh (Muslim) I'm not willing to ignore this time, that's my side, out there.

We have all the right to make it stop as unfortunate as war goes, In Israel borders it's a minority of radical and it's the police job.

I'm torn in pain and you are all vultures feeding solely on one body, not for the first time.

I don't want your opinions, you can have them out, but the last thing I'm gonna do here is to start a conversation. That was just FYI.

God who makes Peace in heavens, in his mercy, will make peace among us, and among all of his people and his children of Israel Amen.

Allah ya3inna.

This all sounds amazing but you have to understand that your people are literally stealing from, killing and putting out fake narratives against Palestinians (including Christian people along with Muslims) and they’ve been doing this for years now. They are not letting them have basic human rights such as health care and freedom of religion. They are torturing and brutally stealing from people. I understand that you are biased and this is in no way a hate towards Jewish people. Yesterday I saw a video of your people dancing, singing, cheering and calling for GENOCIDE against muslim people of Palestine. Stop with this narrative of “I have muslim friends” because you yourself in thst case don’t respect your friends. You expect your friends to give your people their land and to live by your rules and that’s not what friends do. I won’t be convinced after what I saw yesterday that your people (at least majority) mean good for muslims and other Palestinians.

You do realize this alone is a core problem right? You do realize that thousands of Palestinians were forced out of their homes under military force just to make place for the new comers. But what's not what we're talking about here. If you saw the other thread, you'd understand.

Also, I don't like the fact that you, seemingly a peace lover, completely ignored the situation in the West Bank, where settlements and checkpoints are tearing that area apart every single day. Let alone the current ethnic cleansing happening in Sheikh Jarrah. Are these also not human beings or what?

I know you said you don't want opinions or a conversation, but you can't post something like that and expect no argument in return.
