Why Miley Cyrus baceme so Underrated?

I’ll speak from my point of view since I’m not really a fan. Bangerz was huge and she was everywhere for the most cringey stuff. The album got attention because it was fun and her rebel era. Then with Younger Now I kinda liked her sound but it doesn’t seem like she was trying to come up with a big album, more just show Malibu out there because she was happy in a relationship. 

The EP is ok and kept the fans fed while she worked on her new album. The final product of Plastic Hearts is a mix of good catchy songs (Midnight Sky, Nightcrawling, Prisoner) with some really random ones on the second half. Miley does have a good voice but on this album I just feel like she’s playing a Debbie Harry character and not really Miley Cyrus but that’s pretty much what her entire career has been like. There’s the Hannah Montana character, the Bangerz hip hop rebel character, the chill country inspired character and now the rock chick character. 

I mean I like some of her songs but her huge moment was Bangerz because of the controversy and people who liked that have moved on.

Probably because she has no musical identity, she has literally no idea who she is as an artist. That's a very quick way of losing fans. Nothing about her is genuine. Good album tho.

Outside the USA Miley is definitely not underrated, many are aware of her new singles and they do well on radio, mainly "Nothing Breaks like a Heart" and "Midnight Sky"

Even during the bangerz era she was only hot from like July-November 2013. By the 3rd single after Wrecking Ball she was already flopping and the tour didn’t do all that great either. After that she had a 3/3 flop eras with dead petz, younger now and the EP trilogy thing which then became plastic hearts. Midnight Sky and the dua lipa song did okay in the UK though

Her catalogues isn't very good, at least to me. I really like Miley, especially in the last couple of years. She can really murder a song. But I only listen to maybe 3 of her songs. I liked her cover of Zombie and Heart of Glass. She just needs better music. The GP will always think she's trashy but if she puts out good music they like they have no choice but to admit she is talented... A bit like Gaga, except Gaga always had hits that nobody could deny. Then she started with Tony  and they were forced to admit that there was more to her than a meat dress.

She rides on high with Bangerz, but then she decides to do Younger Now, which was very Caucasian since it was country sounding album, and that offends Black Twitter who followed her from Bangerz, accusing her of appropriating their culture, (mainly twerking), and sounds  for fame with Bangerz.

Never recover from that since, just like Iggy Azalea did.

Djeez, you guys talk as if she’s over or smth. You know how many smaller artists dream of having a career like Miley’s? She not doing bad at all. Why do main pop star fans always think there is no difference between being at the top or being successful. An artist can be successful without Billboard hits. 😂

I’ll never forget being in clubs in London and hearing Mothers Daughter played multiple times when I never hear it in the US. 😭 I think she has always had the potential here it’s just that she didn’t catch on the times she should have.

wait whaaa?  lol.  I was never into her before Plastic Hearts but this album blew me away.  She has become a very unpredictable artist and that's why I'm into her suddenly.  So I would say the opposite is true.
