The portrayal of these roles made her a childhood icon for a lot of kids born in the late 1990s and early 2000s. Her show iCarly experienced a resurgence in popularity in 2020 when it was added to Netflix in the US, proving once again that people still love her and her show. More recently, a reboot of iCarly was announced in late 2020. On top of that, several memes of her and her characters have gone viral multiple times proving once again that she is indeed an icon.
