In all fairness, they’re just dismissing threats from Macron.  He does exert small d*** energy :laughga:

When EU exported more than 40 millions vaccines (and many of them to UK), but UK exported zero and british Astrazeneca isn't fulfilling contracts with EU. Success of UK is at the expense of the rest (as usual).

Okay, let’s do a wee fact check on this.

The UK taxpayer invested heavily into creating a vaccine that it is now selling at COST.  The UK is also a key member paying into COVAX, a programme that is supplying poorer countries with a vaccine... the vaccine of choice?  AstraZeneca, and it’s being given to 97% of people in these poorer countries.  The UK has been supplying the commonwealth with vaccines via COVAX and stepped in when the EU decided to ban exports to Australia.

The EU signed its deal late and tried to barter with a company offering them a vaccine at cost.  It then found out because of it playing stupid games, it was at the back of the queue and signed a weaker deal than other countries.  The EU should be happy it received a single vaccine after its members tried to rubbish it over politics.

The Jersey government implemented new rules on fishing, all it is is that they wanted fishermen to provide proof they had fished in their waters before and France has gone full blown dictator and threatened to cut off Jersey’s electricity because of it.

Poland has its issues, true! But at least it does not act as a enemy state towards other countries in Europe. It is still respected partner internationally,,  UK isnt.

I think you need to look a little closer to home, my friend.  It’s the EU banning exports to countries and EU members threatening to turn off the lights, not the UK.

"What’s the row all about? In short, French fishermen are furious at having their access to British waters around Jersey limited by new rules following the U.K.-EU Brexit deal. The terms of the deal require the fishermen to use GPS data to prove they’ve been fishing in these waters from 2012 to 2016. But 17 French boats have be unable to demonstrate a historical link to the area and have had their access limited. The French government claims Jersey has whacked these boats with new red tape without communicating the requirements properly beforehand. Jersey says the French have had since January to get up to date on the new rules. The BBC’s Jessica Parker has a detailed explainer.

Le strop: This barney boiled over yesterday, with AFP reporting that 100 French boats were planning to sail to Jersey’s St Helier port today to protest. The Times splash carries big talk from David Sellam, from the Eastern Channel Sea Authority, who sounds like he’s auditioning for a role in Les Mis: “We’re ready for war. We can bring Jersey to its knees if necessary.” Remarkably that language was backed up by the actual French government, whose Sea Minister Annick Girardin threatened to pull the plug on Jersey’s power: “As far as Jersey is concerned, I would remind you, for example, of the transport of electricity via submarine cables. So we have the means, and even though I’m sorry it has come to this, we will do so if we have to.” POLITICO’s Cristina Gallardo has more.

Well, let’s see. The average person doesn’t consider policies. I mean my friend is voting Lib today purely because they delivered a hand written letter.

Personally I am hopefully for a SNP/Labour win but I’m expecting a Tory landslide.
