I think it was technically illegal already back then too tbh but old ppl in those rural parts of portugal didnt care. That was the way and they did it anyway

 

Usually no parents complained since in general ppl agreed with that kind of upbringing and discipline... but my mom being a Canadian raised Karen had a lot of sh*t to say and one day showed up to the school and told her off and threatned to go to the board. She was stunned, she had been teaching for decades and I think that was a first 

 

That did not work in my favour tho. She stopped hitting me but i just became a bigger target in other ways and i also become known as the snitches kid
