We’ve had a bill in NC that was proposed (thankfully it died) that would require school staff to report any students that were not gender conforming to their parents. (Even in elementary school which is just crazy. A boy playing with dolls doesn’t make them trans or gay!) Besides just being transphobic, some students only have the adults at school that they can talk to. So now we are going to make it where they can’t even trust adults at their school?! Just so wrong all the way around. In some ways he’s the most progressive president in modern history, in other ways he’s not. But the overall message he’s trying to send out as a public figure and representative of the American government and people is a positive one, at the very least.
