Economy 52,857
https://www.google.ca/amp/s/www.cbc.ca/amp/1.5995061 Canadian Prime Minister age 49 who still isnt vaccinated recently became eligeable now that the Province of Ontario (Prime Minister lives in Ontario) lowered age to 40 if its AstraZeneca shot (18 in hot spots) Trudeaus office is trying to secure the Prime Minister an appointment Its not clear if the Prime Minister is doing this to help ease fears of the Astrazeneca vaccine (which is the least desired vaccine in Country currently) by taking it himself... or if its simply to take the shot like everyone else and the Premier of Ontario only made Astrazeneca available for that age group. Trudeau must still submit to Provincial jurisdiction in these matters
Economy 52,857
@LaLa @OBEY @JustinTrudeau Yazzzzz Trudeau setting that example Also anyone else find it Ironic that the Federal Government is above the Provinces in Authority technically but the PM of the Federal Government still is still told by the Province when and what shot he can have? Hot spots u can get any vaccine younger but his city Ottawa (Capital) is not a hot spot. So it could be just about getting a vaccine and AstraZeneca is the one he qualifies for at his age But if it is about sending a message because of the distaste for AZ i say good for him for doing this

Knife 7,079
Wasn't it Astrazeneca vaccines that Canada was criticized for appropriating from the COVAX supply which was intended for less developed nations? Good to see they're being put to use, or attempting to.
nickkoko 922
Good for him! I'm still kind of confused with these "hot spots", especially in downtown TO where I live. So my postal code technically isn't a "hot spot" but a few blocks away, it is a hot spot? So basically, at the rate things are going now I won't get vaccinated until August or September unless my postal code becomes a hot spot which I don't want to happen anyways. I think theres more than 1 level of hot spot Theres basically 3 cities labeled as hot spots, Toronto and then the 3 cities in Peel (Mississauga, Brampton, Caledon)... they are getting extra vaccine supplies and these areas are also pushing for more vaccinations for younger ppl and essential workers But then theres the ultra hot spots within these cities by postal code... an 18 year old from my understanding for now to qualify would have to be in those specific spots Im not 100% sure of all the details tbh its a little confusing. I just know theres hot zones within hot zones. Peel are Toronto are general hot zones but theres a further breaking down by postal codes Not sure what the point of postal code is tho. Most spread happens at work or with friends and family visists not ur neighbours u never talk to. Most ppl will spread it to others not in the same postal code anyway

For every vaccine a wealthy nation payed for in that price it pays for 1 for a developing nation... it needs to be used for it to actually work I think they were suggesting leave the doses there for poor countries first... but the issue with that argument is the way Covax was designed then there would be no funding for it

Unlike a lot of people in power, PM Trudeau isn't a self righteous clown, he doesn't put himself first, he has been following guidelines, staying home, working from home except when necessary to go to parliament for meeting in House of Commons. But even then most meetings he did and does are virtual. Early in the pandemic, his wife had covid and he's taken precautions and followed guidelines strictly ever since. Something conservative clowns tried to give him flack for in their pathetic vendetta against him. #IStandWithTrudeau
