Do you guys think Lady Gaga will retire soon?

I think she will take a HUGE break from pop music, she is gonna focus on acting and make up. I think she will release sporadic experimental stuff eevery now and then.

I am authistic, so don't be offended if I make a mess sometimes.

I hope not. People think popstars can only release good music between the ages of 20-35 but some of the biggest songs or albums are still coming out after they reach 40. Madonna with Music and then Confessions, Cher with Believe. I just can't picture Gaga at home taking care of her kids, it's like Cristina Yang from Grey's Anatomy giving up surgery. Gaga was born to make music.

She's 35. That's a ridiculous thing to say 😂😂😂😂

If she has a kid now, she will be 56 -57 years old when her child turns 21 to go clubbing together. :unicorn:

Don't see it happening everrrrr, she is both plagued by and obsessed with being a famous entertainer. Even if music takes a (even stronger) backseat, I think she will continue to work on acting and other creative projects

No she says it in Five Foot Two as well, but she still could've changed since then :)

True I mean she has a make up brand she can turn on us like what Riri did. :messga:

Not retire, but with so much acclaim from ASIB and currently working with such big named A list actors, I can definitely see Gaga focusing more on acting than singing - which I wouldn't be mad about tbh.

She better not:excuseu:

I was thinking about Rih this morning, what the hell is she doing? I know she doesn't have to release an album every year like she used to, but girl, at least be honest about what's happening. I hope I'm wrong but at this point I can't imagine her comeback being as successful as expected

I don't think she will retire anytime soon but BTW (2011) was her last mostly successfull album rollout/era. 10 years ago :cryga:

ARTPOP Obviously had its issues, Joanne had the double tour cancellation and 2nd single switch, and we all know what happened with Chromatica.

Idk I just feel like I don't see these issues with other popstars of her calibur, or even those up and coming (see Dua Lipa's Future Nostalgia era)

With that said, I'm excited for her expanding movie career. I do think she may focus more on film and become more of a Vegas performer or even do a musical of her life. I don't think the music industry has been kind to her.

I truly would hope not BUT she has said for a very long time that she wants to settle down and start a family. That’s really important to her I would imagine, so I wouldn’t be mad. She deserves a REAL hiatus away from the public.

i can't see her ever retiring. she'll keep working until she leaves this earth.

I think that what's gonna happen is she'll slowly but surely transition into being an (almost) exclusive actor. She'll keep releasing music, but it's not going to be the music her OG fans signed up for. She'll likely dabble in other genres, possibly rock or R&B, but I think she'll continue the pattern of releasing collaborations. I think her "canon" studio albums will stick to the 3-4 year cycle she's established, unless she has some crazy artistic epiphany that drops an entire album into her lap, but I don't see that happening (at least not in the immediate future).

Acting, I think, is much better for her on so many levels. Her role in ASIB was more critically acclaimed than her music ever was, and her fibromyalgia seriously limits her touring abilities. If she wants to have kids, condensed filming schedules gives her more time with family than uber-long, promo-filled album cycles do. She also seems to be more interested in it. We know more about her roles in Gucci and Bullet Train than what happened with Chromatica.

plus, we're talking about a full-fledged career transition into film. Gaga is the best singer-actor we've seen in a while, and, depending how her Gucci role is received, she could be accepted as a fully legitimate actor separate from her music career. That's an insane feat that really hasn't been achieved since the Golden Age of Hollywood.

Almost every other singer who's later become an actor is still tied inextricably to their music. By the time Gaga does retire, I can totally see her being remembered more for her acting prowess than her music.

Which isn't a dig on her music, but reflective of her skillset – she's a phenomenal singer, but we've always been drawn to her as a performer, and that's a distinction that must be made when we compare her to people like Taylor, Ariana, Adele, etc. None of those artists can hold a candle to Gaga's live performances, and I think that's why she's been so successful as an actor – she has a sense of theatricality that nobody else in the industry has right now.
