I am the only one who doesn't like ARTPOP that much?

I mean, its a nice album, but not really that great.

I see a lot of you saying that its one of her best albums, but why?!

Look at Chromatica, this is an album that you can say is really great. :firega:

I mean, regardless, this post gets 50 points to your house of choice because it isn’t Chromatica promo bashing for once, so das cool.

I think it's a good album with some great songs but sounds a bit too empty and polished.

No! It has always been my least favorite Gaga album.
To me it sounds like a playlist of random songs thrown together, it has no cohesiveness and Gaga sounds soulless on many of the songs.

No, you are not alone. :)

My favorite albums are Chromatica and Born This Way (and I really have a special place in my heart for "The Fame" too)

but I have grown to really like ARTPOP now too and I also really enjoy listening to Joanne, when I'm in the mood for it.

I just love all of Gaga's albums. LOL

But it took me a while to really understand ARTPOP and I really really enjoy it now, which wasn't always the case...

I love ARTPOP but it's not my favourite Gaga record.

The EDM production is great but I would have preferred more of an industrial/ not as sleek sound overall like the version of sexxx dreams at the iTunes festival.

I think at the time of its release, I expected a more serious, high art record but I guess that's just my mind being stereotypical?  and it makes sense now given the purpose of ARTPOP was to free ourselves of what we should come to expect when we literally associate art and pop together.

The record to me is very "Camp" looking back now which I guess does fulfil its purpose of the concept of ARTPOP in a sense. I think it's aged very well and the fact there are so many layers/discussions to this album "is it art or not?" "her flop era" etc contributes to it's cultural relevance in music today.

Same here!

every gaga album so far had something to it, a soul and a heart. Every album and almost every song except fillers feels like to be written with emotion (examples: Edge of Glory, Angel Down, Rain On Me, Born This Way), but not ARTPOP. ARTPOP feels like ART and POP and only these two, no emotions. Honestly I found it actually very dumb and “cold”, too electronic, too contemporary, too experimental, too commercial.

ARTPOP just failed, not because of being cold and feeling like it was made in a “factory” but also failed without giving the overall impression

(Except of Gypsy)😏

You must've been in a coma during the ARTPOP era if you think you're the only one :billie:

If Sire, Partynauseous, Onion Girl, Red Flame, Tinnitus, Temple, and TEA had been included in the final tracklist then ARTPOP would’ve been the epitome of fun carefree electro/synthpop perfection and the current hype around the album would’ve been perfectly warranted :flower:

But if the bandwagon nostalgia that ARTPOP is receiving right now exists because people are taking initiative to be protective of Gaga's emotional, personal state and artistic vision in 2013-14, and is a reaction against the immensely massive bandwagon hate train that she received during that terrible period of her life, then I'm all here for it :kara:

I'm with you. I love all of Gaga's albums, they're all unique and special to me, but ARTPOP is for sure my least favourite sound from her so far. Her other albums are just SO good.
