Lion Heart 15,041
Rumors below I'm sorry, as previously stated, I have not played the game at all, so I don't know where in the game certain Pokémon are found. However, judging by the levels in the screenshots, there is a new Grass/Dragon type called Kinryosou, based on a snapdragon, that is found at level 14, which should be fairly early in the game. I would guess around the second Gym. Six new Pokemon will be revealed this month (July). Aside from the aforementioned Kinryosou, I will start out with one of my favorite new evolution families. Sumika is a Dark-type vampire squid. It is commonly found in caves, hanging from the ceiling with its suckers. It learns a move called Ink Jet that lowers the foe's accuracy and makes the user switch out. If you turn your 3DS system upside-down as it reaches level 25, it will evolve into Koumorika, which gains a secondary Psychic-type. Only one team, called Team Helix. They have a military theme but are very futuristic in appearance. Their goal is to unlock a Pokémon's inner strength through genetic engineering, to create an unstoppable army. Their leader is called Irida, who is descended from a long line of Pokemon scientists. In contrast with the team's goals, she seems more interested in understanding the minds of Pokemon. The second gym is located in Rikume Town, led by Tania (fairly sure she keeps her name in the international versions of the game). She uses Fairy-type Pokemon and is also a librarian. Don't know about Fairy Wind, but I do know a few other new moves. I already mentioned Ink Jet in an earlier post. Koumorika also learns Brain Drain, a Psychic-type version of Giga Drain. Cloudy Skies is a Dark-type move that causes fog for five turns. Draining Kiss is a Fairy-type moves that heals the user by the total amount of damage done to the foe. Belch is a powerful Poison-type move that has different effects depending on the berry the user is holding. There are actually three professors, one for each part of Kalos. The main professor residing in Vaniville Town is Professor Morio Kumashide (often referred to simply as Morio). He gives the player their starter Pokemon at the beginning of the game. His area of expertise is the aesthetic differences within Pokemon species, such as alternate coloration and gender differences. For example, female Gogoat have much smaller horns, and shiny Fletchling are golden instead of red. Professor Sanzashi is the professor from Mountain Kalos. He studies differences in Pokemon's strengths and abilities. As a former employee of Devon Corporation, he is a renowned inventor and had a major role in the development of Game Sync and the Dream Radar. It is said that he also worked with another famous scientist to develop a unique device, but resigned from the project when he learned of his colleague's association with a certain villainous organization. Professor Higambana lives Coastal Kalos and studies Pokemon form differences. She owns three different Shellos, a West Sea Shellos from Coastal Kalos, an East Sea Shellos from Mountain Kalos, and a new form called Central Sea Shellos. It is purple in color and looks like a cross between the East and West Sea forms. It is noted that she is a former student of Professor Oak. Mawile has an evolution called Chiitaago that is Steel/Fairy (Mawile also becomes part Fairy). It evolves from Mawile by leveling up in a new enchanted forest area near Rikume Town. It learns Draining Kiss. The Sableye evo is called Yaminikui. It has a dark cloak covering its upper body, a black mask around its eyes which are almost fully closed, with only a tiny bit of gem showing from underneath its eyelid, and a mischievous grin. It evolves from Sableye by leveling up in a foggy cave illuminated by glowing gemstones. It learns Cloudy Skies. The Swalot evo is called Musavoru. It is red in color and very rotund, with a clearly defined head and a wobbly double chin. It has a large diamond-shaped marking under its chins that looks like an apron. It evolves from Swalot when it learns the new move Belch. The Mewtwo form from the movie is called Awakened Forme, and is Psychic/Fairy. It focuses on Speed. Mewtwo transforms into Awakened Forme using the DNA Splicers together with an item called the Advance Gene. It is said to be a more enlightened form, able to make critical decisions with lightning speed. Well, that should be just about it. Eevee evolves into Sylveon after reaching a maximum Bond Level and achieving one of the two in-battle effects. The stat screen now has two gauges for each stat called "Potential" (IVs) and "Effort" (EVs). These are only shown in a roundabout way; the Effort meter is just a progress bar like Exp., while the Potential meter rates each stat's potential on a 5-star scale. There is also a facility called the PokéDojo where you can train your Pokemon. The other Mewtwo form is smaller and more closely resembles Mew. It is called the Dormant Forme, and is Psychic/Dark. It mainly focuses on defenses, and has much higher Attack than regular Mewtwo. Transforms using the DNA Splicers with the Reverse Gene. It is said to be a more regressed form, and relies on instinct rather than reason. Horde encounters are a bit tougher because five Pokémon can attack a slower Pokémon in a row, but their levels are lower than normal encounters to balance it out. They're less common than normal encounters too. One thing I thought was neat is that breeding pairs are considered a single species in horde encounters, so if you encounter a horde of Volbeat and Illumise for example, the game will only refer to whichever there is more of (so if you find three Volbeat and two Illumise, it will just say you encountered a horde of Volbeat). You've actually already seen this with Tauros and Miltank, they appear to be actual breeding counterparts in X and Y (so breeding a Miltank can produce Tauros eggs and vice versa). There is an Ice/Normal-type wolf called Hyourufu. The design is very simple, it's just a white wolf with pale blue paws. It learns a new move called Frostbite, which lowers the foe's Attack, Defense, and Speed. Interacting with your Pokémon with Pokemon-Amie raises what's called a Bond Level. The Bond Level affects the rate at which a Pokémon becomes friendly, with higher Bond Levels also granting special effects in battle. Sometimes the Pokémon will turn to await a command and the trainer will say to aim for a weak spot, resulting in a critical hit. Other times the player may command the Pokémon to dodge a move, even ones that are normally 100% accurate. Let's see what happens in July/ the next issue of CoroCoro ▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀
