chromatic puzea 10,653
when she said at the beginning how much of a waste of time it was that same thought is always in my mind the government could be doing a million things to help our communities and raise quality of life but they literally sit around tables and try to take rights away from lgbtq+ people and minorities because for some reason that's top priority over poverty, homelessness, covid relief, health care, or literally any problem the mom was so brave and strong for testifying and i hope she really made an impact on the senators or whoever she was speaking to hard to even fathom which parts you should believe
PartySick 173,098
Aww I teared up listening to this. What a bad ass. I hope justice prevails here. I'm so sensitive to LGBT youth suffering 'cause that's something so many of us have dealt with. You're not broken. You're not a freak. You are loved. And one day things like this won't happen anymore. Whimsical bitch
Concertaholic 6,592
I was at the Texas Capitol yesterday and testified against the same bill but in the Texas House rather than the Texas Senate. I got there at 7am and there were so many people there both in support and opposition to the bill that would ban healthcare for trans youth that I had to wait until 11pm to testify. The hearing went all the way until midnight. It was so difficult to sit there for hours and listen to wackos say that I as a gay man, and especially my trans friends, had no place in our own state. I pray these bills don't become law but it is Texas after all. Here is some more testimony from an amazing and well known young transgender activist named Kai Shappley. .
