Well I've listened to the new songs for the first and probably last time in my life

What confuses me is why all the various collabs/remixes from the era weren't added to this.

I agree with everything in this post. There are times when I think Marina is a lyrical genius, and other times when I'm like "How in god's name did she think this lyric sounded remotely good."

I love her to pieces and think she is a musical master, but sometimes Marina :icega:

Same i love her forever and I know what shes capable of and thus why she underwhelms me at times, in recent years I mean. But its all love here lol :staymad:

Although ill stand by Emotional Machine being classic Marina and underrated af by literally everyone lol

Yeah, cause she's got so many songs with choruses like that. Excluded Love + Fear, cause this was something different. 😆 Not every chorus has to be excessive, but I get it that you might find it unenjoyable.

Yeah like I feel as though it started with Froot where she pulls back and keeps her sound so bare that it gets dull for me. And that includes her lyricism at times. But like I said before its all love here lol

I love Emotional Machine, through I still can't figure out the lyrics and what she means in that song. Cause she's machine but at the same time emotional being.

Sugar, spice, and everything nice.

@Inferno I hoped you could help me figure out the meaning, but I see "thanks" Reaction so you probably don't get it either haha.

Oh I reacted before your edit haha

I think its basically just that she can be clinical when it comes to emotions and cut off feelings she does not want to feel. Like a machine. At the start she says her partner is leaving her because she cant love him the way he wants her to. But also "do you ever truly love me", shes wondering if he ever really loved her or if he just wanted to be with her because he was scared to be alone, even if she couldn't fulfill him emotionally. Shes like going back and forth and referring to herself as a machine.

I love pink convertible, it is a classic marina song with classic marina sound and lyrics but also very unique because of the use of new instuments and sounds

Free woman disapointed me a little bit, it seems unfinished for me
