This is probably the one case where I’m actually going to disagree. Jacob was clearly defying the officers commands, walked away & then reached for a knife in his car. The officer also didn’t kill him & aimed for the lower half of the body to prevent death. Yes it’s unfortunate that Jacob is now paralyzed but he isn’t innocent in this case. This could’ve been prevented had Jacob not done that & listened to the officer who by the way was responding to an actual call about him. He didn’t profile Jacob or attack at random.

He was shot 7 times! 7 times! C'mon. How can you compare a black guy (who problably goes through life scared and hence the need to keep a knife to protect himself) to an officer shooting not once, not twice, not 3 times, but 7 times. Further examination of Blake's medical records found that he had three entrance wounds on his left side and four shots to his back. Please don't.

sorry my delulu self thought he was killed

i agree that he wasn't innocent and that if he had co-operated then the whole situation would've been a lot easier to handle for everyone but also it's the police's job to de-escalate situations like these

like why in all of these occurances did the police use their gun first?

do they not have tasers?

absolutely jacob was guilty but this is just another example of why the US needs to reform the police

if your go to for de-escalation or handling an issue is to just whip out your gun, then you aren't the person who should be "keeping our communities safer"

No, no, no, no, don't say that. We don't agree with his/her/their point of view but we shouldn't say that. We have to remain civil and kind even when we don't agree. Please, besides those comments could get you in trouble and grant you warning points.

What is actually wrong with you? I didn’t know he was shot 7 times until the user above replied but to say you hope terrible stuff happens to me & the people I love because of an opinion that says “he wasn’t innocent” is f***ing disgusting. You need to get professional help. It’s borderline psychopathic, extremely violent, & disturbing regardless of what you meant by it. You’re probably a gross incel troll who thinks violent comments like this are funny & justified cause you don’t like someone else’s opinion.

The articles I read didn’t say he was shot 7 times which obviously changes things. Maybe next time instead of jumping to worst case scenario & berating someone for an opinion you should inquire more as to why they have that opinion.

Completely agree about police reform, I even believe we need to abolish them altogether. I didn’t read that he was shot 7 times & that clearly changes things & my opinion. Also yeah, he could’ve used a taser. Seems like when it’s a POC though that they just jump to the harshest punishment.

Definition of berate

verb:

to scold or condemn vehemently and at length.

scold or criticize (someone) angrily.

@lestyoufall when did I berate you? Was it the c'mon or the please don't in my reply?

With that being said I did ask you a question to further understand your opinion;

How can you compare a black guy (who problably goes through life scared and hence the need to keep a knife to protect himself) to an officer shooting not once, not twice, not 3 times, but 7 times?

Btw here is an article that confirms he was shot at 7 times:

No ill intent, just trying to understand your position in regards to this topic.
