AstraZeneca definitely made 0 coins thx to the pandemic

That's quite naive Swiss.

Stock market for the whole health industry is plummeting and only the companies proposing a vaccine or good covid researches managed to increase their market value or keep it consistent. That's HUGE money we are talking about. Maybe they don't earn money from the product itself but they do earn huge money on the bigger scale. It's too easy to think they do this for the greater good.

Why would they the way they are treated by the EU?

Because they're contractually forced to do so ? You're defending a lot a company that promised 360 millions vaccines to the EU by mid-2021 and that now only say we will get 100 millions. How is that the responsibility of the politicians ? It's too easy to use our governments as scapegoats for all the shits that are happening.

The EU has ALL rights to threaten Astrazeneca after the disaster that is their production and delivery. How can you justify that a country like the UK or the US get all the doses they need but not other countries. They obviously prefered some countries due to hidden and shady contracts with some countries/politicians or straight up corruption and Europe is right to hold them accountable for it.

The UK and the US are not allowing the exportation of the vaccine to the EU but the vaccines produced on the european soil should be allowed to go there ? How do you justify that the UK block every vaccines until they get all they need but then ask for a Dutch laboratory to give them more vaccines ? That just makes no sense whatsoever

The EU has been way too soft for a while and I'm glad to see it toughen up

When politicians try to do science...:flop:

Get ready for new strains after all these non-effectively vaccinated people get released onto the streets.

Well, I guess I am not getting a second dose then... There is no way in hell that I am letting them give me two different types of vaccines... Who knows what side effect that may give me.... Like will it even work because every vaccine is made different.... So stupid... I ain't going to be someone's lab rat

I've got an "F" and a "C" and I got a "K" too And the only thing that is missing is a bitch like "U"

It's young people that are more at risk with this vaccine, especially women. I'm not anti vax at all, but this particular one's side effects are just as risky as me getting Covid. Id rather be offered another one. In my country they are still using this vaccine on people above 60 that are not experiencing those severe side effects. It's not going to waste.

Birth control is about 100 times more dangerous than the astrazeneca vaccine.

“EMA said that these severe blood clotting events were being reported at a rate of about 1 in 100,000.”

“For the average woman taking birth control pills, the absolute risk of a blood clot is very small: Only 1 in 1,000 women per year who are taking birth control pills will develop such a clot.”

Not that it's any of your business but I'm not using birth control and this is one of the reasons why. It's about time they make birthcontrol safer and involve men more.

Tbh I could care less I can’t get my husband pregnant. Doesn’t affect me, not my decision.

I just find it odd that so many people consider birth control worth the risk with a 1:1,000 chance of causing a blood clot, but don’t consider a vaccine against a virus with a 1:200 chance of *killing* them worth it because the vaccine has a 1:100,000 chance of causing a blood clot. It’s absolute nonsense.

Well obviously, I said it the wrong way. But they actually didn’t make money out of the vaccine itself, that was my point. Obviously it probably isn’t for the greater good. Tbh I don’t really care about that fact it was more the base to found my point on why i think the EU is harsher with AstraZeneca. I definitely think its because they hold the liability...

Obviously they are contractually forced to do so. But what the EU does is still unethic in my eyes. We hold all this vaccine shots back but we don’t use them. At least its like that in Germany. While other countries would have enough people who would take it.

And I don’t say that what the US or UK are doing is good either but at least people use the vaccine there? At least for the UK. Its a hot mess in germany and I doubt its any different in a lot of european countries. People would take the vaccine but instead they prefer creating a panic about it. Now nobody wants to take it but they still hold it back anyways? Then at least give it to all ages. People can decide on their own if they want it. But no they prefer, not listening to the EMA and WHO and only give it to 60+ where almost nobody is ready to take it. Sure on a business point of view they are completely right. Astra didn’t respect the contract yes. But in my eyes it is unethic to stop it. Would even go to the point that the stop costs lives outside of the EU.

Also lemme add that I’m not one of those “I hate politics” people from second 1. I actually did defend the EU and our politics for a very long time. But we are at a point now where they just **** up everything they can. We have politicians in germany that leave office on a daily bases because of affairs and deals out of the pandemic. They canceled their monthly meet up because they, quote, “have no clue what to talk about”. Some others make questionable choices what concerns restrictions. I work at our health department and know for a fact that some restrictions are literal bullsh*t. And I do think it is wrong to limit a vaccine like Astra to a specific age group. Why not give the people the choice if they want AstraZeneca or not? There are obviously enough people under 60 who would take it in a blink of an eye. I would still gladly take my second shot with Astra. But no, we prefer to hold it back in our refrigerators and wait for, a wonder? It certainly isn’t easy to be a politician at the moment. I wouldn’t want to decide things either. But we are at a point where, in my eyes obviously, they almost do everything wrong they could do wrong
