Firstly, I really don't like the idea of outright calling someone 'racist'. There are people who are obviously racist, because they have actively tried to offend a race. And yes, it's highly valid to question whether some of Gaga's choices were racially insensitive or problematic, but to call a person racist for a few minor racially insensitive fashion choices is just highly unnecessary. Secondly, I'm all for cultural appropriation, if it isn't intended to offend. Honestly, I feel like literally every celebrity, probably every PERSON has done something culturally insensitive without even realising. Should Gaga's wearing of the burqa be questioned - yes. But I don't believe Gaga ever intended to offend or upset any race, so to question whether she is racist as a person is crazy. This is what I thought as well Any/All Pronouns, Genderfluid🏳⚧

I honestly do not understand this fandom. You're determined to cause her misery. I reported this thread and I suggest others do the same. Smdh Your taking this WAY too seriously, I stated that I don't think she's racist, I just found this video to be cringy and not be taken seriously Any/All Pronouns, Genderfluid🏳⚧
HuffsAhoy 7,433
Some of the things she's done in her past have been questionable but unlike many of her contemporaries, she's done more than enough to be genuine about her journey to unlearn those behaviors. By default, all of us have some form of racism inside of us because been so engrained in our society, speaking as an American at least. It is a lifelong process of educating yourself and ensuring you don't think or act the same. I used to think trans people were freaks of nature until I was called on this perspective and began my journey of listening to their perspectives and educating myself about their life. You remind me that it's such a wonderful thing to love.
ProfessionalClown 10,645
As a Mexican, how the actual **** was her using chola racially insensitive or racist like...I used to have some cholo moments in my life fashion wise and I literally was in that kinda group in middle school and high school. my ass grew up in Arizona and SoCal (where she apparently is) and cholo/chola isn’t even that big of a deal when you use that word like wtf??? girl had to workout today so she decided to do some stretches I guess idk. samuelx 1,288
imo it's kind've insensitive for white people to comment on this to say what is or isn't racist as they not have expereinced this specific opression from their race, I do believe gaga should own up to the things she's done in her past, even if the intention was that to not be something evil, we can't control how others react to something. I agree with this girl and it's really quite uncomfortable to see how many white folk are okay dragging a young black woman.

Also, I don't see why Americans stress so much about cultural appropriation. It's not offensive, and it shouldn't be. Actually isn't that the beauty of sharing nice atributes between different cultures? Also then white Americans are appropriating several European cultures. look at any person and you will find some way they are "appropriating" some other culture. We are a mixing pot these days. The only time it's problematic is when it'd done to belittle or mock IMO.

This us what you decide to post out of boredom? Hmm, wonder what you were after... As I said before, Gaga would probably agree with at least some of it, not cry and be offended Chill out a little red wine, cheap perfume and a filthy pout
