Kelly would get royalties/writing credits either way. The Xtina version is the perfect reversal of the controversy of the R. Kelly version as a record about two icons and two women who have endured abuse and scrutiny and uplift each other. Right now is my alarm of waking up in the sundays, so i listen to it every week. The song is a masterpiece. R Kelly is a degenerate. Those are two facts. Sorry, but the Christina version doesn’t even compare. And I remember it did okay on the charts despite not having a music video.
