I don't know if it's true, because we haven't heard many of the known unreleased songs from the ARTPOP era, but I swear her record label made her release the safe ones, and the actually good/experimental ones were left out. So sad. I wish she had had more creative freedom during that era, because she could have released a wonderful album.

That's my main problem with ARTPOP, it feels so safe and controlled, like its rebellious spirit was repressed from the beginning for commercial purposes, which is the exact opposite of what art should be. But at the same time, this is what makes it so interesting, the fact that it perfectly reflects the reality of being a female popstar in the music industry. It was so controlled and that is the exact reason why it's so rebellious. ARTPOP is really so interesting as an era.

Didn't she have have submit the album like 3 or 4 times because she kept posting "turning in the album" and then a week later was posting in the studio looking tired and frustrated...ugh...I wish she had been able to display her original concept which included TEA and perhaps even 2 volumes

Yeah, it was constantly pushed back because of the label not being ok with it. That's what eventually lead to her leaking Aura, I guess, to pressure her record label so she could finally release the damn album. But at that point, the changes done had affected the original idea so much, and we ended up getting the album they wanted, not the one Gaga made.
