She co-writes, but from an interview last year it seemed Emily Warren (Capsize) was the main writer behind "Don't Start Now" maybe

I don’t think Gaga is demanding royalties for TIHTY :ladyhaha: (She’s the only credited producer for the song though :ally:)

Then the article is complete frabricated lies and should be disregarded since Dua is an actual proper songwriter and we all know that.

She clearly isn’t the main force behind the songwriting. But really, it doesn’t matter, she’s not the kind of artist anyone listens to for lyrics, those are merely accessories to the production.

It would be shocking if someone like Lana didn’t write because her lyrics are a huge part of what she does. But then, look at Britney or Rihanna, wbk they don’t write a thing and we don’t care, it doesn’t matter.

Dua is different, she is a musician 100%

she wrote her first song when she was 4 years old.

she wrote a song to her mom, yes, at 4 yo, there's a video on yt but i'm not going to look for it rn.

and y'all can believe what you want and doubt about Dua's limitless talent, but when she wins a nobel prize for poetry thanks to her lyrics i will comeback to this thread and trust, you will be dealt with giphy.gif

It’s pretty much a well known fact that Dua has writing camps for her songs but she is pretty involved in writing as seen in her episode of Song Exploder. She gives her ideas, shares her stories for songs that are personal to her.

this mentality is the reason why people keep stealing from songwriters
"you got money for writing a song, be greatful and shut up"

like... no
it a job like every other and artists need that money to survive

red wine, cheap perfume and a filthy pout

Except in that situation Gaga didn't demand credit, Diane decided to give the credit to Gaga so the song could reach a wider audience and impact as many people as possible using Gaga's name and status. It wasn't about fighting for money, it was about getting an important message out that both of them were passionate about. She also spoke about how they collaborated on the song, and it really comes down to Diane's word vs that woman who made a huge fit about Gaga not changing enough to deserve credits. Maybe Gaga produced a lot of the final instrumental? We really don't know

I'll be myself until they fūcking close the coffin.
