In fact, things got this bad because of politics. Bolsonaro has been promoting the “precocious treatment” for covid with hydroxychloroquine and ivermectin  even thought there’s no scientific evidence it actually works. He’s blatantly brainwashing his idiotic followers tbh. A new Brazilian variant has been found and number of deaths has been increasing day after day and then Brazil ex-president which’s very loved by the left wing people spoke about it and Bolsonaro suddenly has changed his speeches to look worried about the situation and all he has done was mock and make fun of the dead and the whole pandemic mess.

The thing that shocks me the most is that Dilma (our first from last president) was impeached for doing something way less harmful than Bolsonaro has been doing for the past two years.

And it's even more shocking to think that over two hundred thousand people have died so far and the biggest part of the population doesn't seem to care.

No, Lula was very loved (and hated here by the right wing) he got known for his politics which benefit and help the poorest people. Dilma came right after Lula, they were both from the same party.

Bolsonaro is only taking action because, since the release of Lula, he has a realistic rival in the next election, so he needs to get his **** together now. Still, as far as I know, he insists on the non-existent "early treatment" with the drugs he bought by the millions from the army's drug factories.

He changes the minister every time he/she doesn't agree with him. Of course he's the president, and the formulation of public healthcare's policies is his prerrogative, but it's very irresponsible to consistently disregard technical recomendations from healthcare authorities. And he's not even being honest by admitting he is prioritizing the economic well-being of big business and the majority of the working class in order not to lose political capital, even if at the cost of many human lives. He's simply warping reality by discrediting the whole scientific community, except for a few outliers who are into his ideological craze. And a huge chunk of the population still falls for this through the fake news constantly published by his most influential followers on FB and in WA groups - which are the main source of information for most of the population.

Social media really is destroying our society. There's no truth anymore.
