To anyone on here who uses dating apps: on a first date, always agree to meet at a public space with lots of people around. It’s never the victims fault, but it doesn’t hurt to be careful. PS: if you’re on lockdown, for gods sake DO NOT go out on dates. That defeats the purpose of the whole thing, especially since the contact is so intimate. Get to know them first before spending time with them alone. If something is off, don’t meet them again. Remember that you don’t have to do anything you don’t want to do! And if your date is a good person, they do not have a problem meeting you at a public place. If cafes and restaurants are closed in your city, go for a walk on a public park, for example. Make sure you’re spending time with a good person. Practising basic self-defence skills wouldn’t do you harm either. Be smart.
