delete your twitter account
best decision i've made in years

I still cannot 😂 one of my few former college friends still tweets regularly and they have good humor and good insights. I still feel that twitter is more genuine than instagram. And i still tweet my daily micro-journaling on my 2nd account, and that helps me articulate my thoughts and greatly decrease my depression.

*I know this is a different issue, but you triggered me (in a good way) about twitter*

truly

the cesspool that it has become it's harmful for anyone who takes it seriously

on the topic:

i don't think "BTS fandom" is the one to blame, not that specifically.

fandom will always exist (bieber, 1d, bts...) and the best you can do is just to stay out of this.

they'll be fine and you'll preserve a bit of mental sanity by not doing so.

They are a bunch of 12-year old psychos who live at home with their parents hating on a successful Grammy award winning legend while BTS will be fads soon enough, so just ignore them.

no i don't even follow them. the recent "follow topic" feature just disrupt my productive purpose with twitter : it keeps showing up and messed my easily distracted and easily triggered brain.

I guess then the solution is more self control. Or if twitter (the company) keeps being this mess and more manipulative and just doesn't care of the mental health aspect of it, then maybe I will run out of good reasons to stay. So delete account it is lol. Just for my future consideration.

Im a fan of BTS, and they used to be my ultimate group but now I’ve moved on to other k/cpop groups. I respect BTS, and they deserve a lot, but their fans are, more often than not, horrifically unbearable. Other fan bases in the kpop community do not behave this way, and I have never understood it. For that reason, I decided to expand my horizons to other groups, and was pleasantly surprised to see there are so many groups that have respectable fan bases and the groups are wildly talented and actually interesting. As much as their fan base would believe BTS walks on water and “paved the way”, that’s actually not really true. Groups like SHINee, EXO, artists like BoA, RAIN, etc are actual pioneers that paved the way and BTS had a great opportunity to run with it and perfect the art of global recognition. Again, not disrespecting BTS at all or their achievements, and it is important to note they are talented and a kind group of men. However, their fan base cannot be paid attention to, and the best thing to do is simply ignore them and separate their behavior from BTS. Just stating my onion(girl) :vegas:

BTS fandom does not affect me at all. I intend to keep it that way. When some threads started showing up here showing some of their horrid behavior, I was curious and did a little search on twitter. When I saw threats being made, I reported them. I hope some BTS stans got locked out of twitter for a time period until they can cool off and stop making threats of physical violence. The threats I saw were against the Recording Academy. :saladga:

In short, report every tweet that contains physical violence. Don't interact with the tweeter.

HA were you around when Britney and Gaga were actively going “head to head”? Britney’s fanbase is without a doubt the most toxic, deluded, insane, vile base that has ever and will ever exist. Everything else is a cakewalk.

good for you, unfortunately not following certain accounts didn't avoid me from seeing
1 - attwh0res tweeting baits to be "cancelled"
2 - problematic shitposters
3 - the stantwitter sickos
4 - undesired ****ography

and also the unnamed category of gheys who are always posting photos of themselves and curiously do not own a single shirt (or underwear)
