In the hills of Chromatica winning Best Pop Vocal Duo, there's started conversations about whether this being her first album to have achieved winning a Grammy, #1 album and have a #1 song.

What do you think?

ASIB is a Gaga album. Just because it’s a soundtrack and a collab album doesn’t mean it’s non existent in her discography.

Y’all can’t claim Shallow as a #1 Gaga song if you’re going to pretend the album isn’t even hers :bear:

ASIB is not a Gaga album. It's album for a movie in which she created it for her character "Ally". That album is essentially Jack and Ally Maine's album, not Gaga's. All the songs are relevant to the characters in the movie, they are not from Gaga's own perspectives.

Chromatica is entirely Gaga's vision within the song writing and all the songs are relevant to what she was going through at that moment in her life. We see things from Gaga's perspective, not looking through the lense of a character.

In terms of awards, Gaga's name is on both. Ally Maine is a fictional character which is why Gaga gets the awards and acclaim for ASIB. That's obvious. But its not a Gaga album in concept or in song.

She wrote and performed the songs and executive produced the album... who's is it if not hers?

It is a Gaga album if people want to count it as the #1 single, #1 album and Grammy record thing because it counts as her’s

It does not count as an LG6 type of album because it’s not a solo project, like Cheek To Cheek and the songs were written from Ally’s perspective so clearly not a “Lady Gaga Album”.

She’s the executive producer, main songwriter, and is the performer of the majority of the songs. It’s her album. There are only like 3 solo Bradley songs

I still consider it a side project. LG5 is Joanne and LG6 is Chromatica

I agree with your take and would like to add that being a soundtrack album it also includes songs without Gaga which technically speaking immediately turns it into a non Gaga album

Black Eyes

La vie en rose

Maybe it's time

Out of time

Diggin'my grave

Too far gone

All of the songs listed above are in the album and aren't Gaga's.

She wrote that song which is different from viewing the whole album as hers.
